For today’s OOTD I paired this beautiful tunic top from ZARA along with some simple black leggings and added a pop of color with neon pumps. I decided to add some very classic accessories to create a feminine yet chic look as well.

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a fabulous 4th of July, as I know I enjoyed the holiday as well. It was a beautiful day in Miami so I went out on a yacht with about 30 people and we went to a sandbar where everyone meets up with their yachts/boats. It was a huge celebration on the water and I had such a good time. I decided to opt for a more classic look than the typical “red, white and blue” that most people wear for the holiday. I wore a black and white bikini with a Victoria’s Secret mesh cover-up and my Steve Madden sandal heels. I accessorized it with some gold jewelry as well. How did you guys spend your holiday?
#1: Lose the Sugar!
Many people don’t realize the amount of extra calories you consume by drinking soda, juices, or other drinks that are full of sugar. Rather than drinking beverages high in sugar, opt for water. It’s much better for your body and your skin! There is also plenty of sugar in alcoholic drinks, so if you are looking to lose weight I suggest leaving the alcohol alone for awhile. If you have one drink per week, then mix it with club soda or have one glass of red wine.
#2: Portion your Plate
If you eat five small meals throughout the day rather than three large meals, it will help you with portion control. Your plate should be no higher than an inch of food in height and should consist of primarily proteins and vegetables.
#3: Switch to Whole Grains
Limit your grains or carbohydrates to a minimum, but choose whole grains if you must. Whole grains refers to brown rice, whole-wheat bread, whole-wheat pita bread, or anything that says “whole-wheat” is pretty much safer for you to consume.
#4: Egg Whites are your New BFF
There are added calories in whole eggs so switch to consuming egg whites, which are lighter and better for you. They are the perfect breakfast with a side of turkey bacon and spinach or hard-boiled eggs are a great snack (minus the yolk).
#5: Snacks Don’t Have to be Bad
If you must have a snack throughout the day, grab a handful of raw almonds (no salt added) or dried cranberries. I also like apples with a little almond butter.
I hope these tips help those of you who are looking to lose weight or for those of you who just want to create a healthier lifestyle for yourself.
If you follow me on Twitter or my Facebook page, then you may have seen a post about my recent participation in the upcoming Insanity workout program commercial. As many of you know, I lost over 55 pounds in two months using the Insanity workout program and I sent my results in to Beachbody (the creators of the workout program). Since they loved my results, I went through a selection process and was chosen to be part of the new commercial. Therefore, the company flew me to New York City where we filmed it. It was my first trip to the big city and it was nothing short of amazing. From the fashion to the food, there was so much for me to take in and I loved every bit of it.
As soon as I landed, they had a private car and chauffeur pick me up at the airport and take me to the King & Grove Hotel which was right off Madison Avenue. After a quick outfit change, I was already exploring the city. I took plenty of photos from the city as well as the shoot. The shoot was so much fun! We did photo shoots, an interview for the commercial, and footage of a group of about 12 of us working out with Shaun T himself. Check out my first round of photos! I have more to come in future posts!
Hey guys and dolls! Today is my “golden” birthday!! For those of you who have never heard of this term before, a golden birthday is when you turn the the same age/number as the date of your birthday. For example, I turned 26 today and my birthday lands on the 26th of June. I am so happy to be where I am in my life and to have the amazing loved ones who surround me. I’ll be celebrating with a few friends tonight at a quick happy hour on the water, but the big celebration will take place this weekend. I planned a private boat ride (although I’m unsure about it due to the weather), dinner at Serendipity 3 (my new favorite restaurant in Miami Beach), and Bamboo Miami Beach. I’ll post a blog about it later next week! For today’s post I’d like to share my “daytime birthday look” of the day.

Since I just went to New York City, of course I HAD to check out the fashion in the area. I fell in love with Fifth Avenue as I browsed the high end designer stores and labels, but H&M also had a flagship store in the area. I thought I would share with you the few items that I picked up! I’m a big fan of high end labels but I also appreciate affordable fashion as well.
Check them out and come back to see how I style these pieces.
This month’s June MyGlam Bag is probably one of my favorites! The theme “Out All Night” features beauty products that are perfect for a girl’s night out or night on the town.
What’s in my June MyGlam Bag?
Philosophy Oxygen Gel Cream
Living proof Nourishing Styling Cream
Marbella Permanent Eyeliner Pen
One of my favorite ways to create a feminine and sexy look is to show a little bit of skin with a peek-a-boo top like this denim one from a local boutique here. I believe Forever 21 had one with a similar style as well. A tip for keeping the look unified is to pair it with something that covers up the other areas of your body so you aren’t revealing everything at once. For example, I paired this top with a maxi skirt to balance out the overall look.
What I’m wearing:
Forever 21 maxi
Forever 21 necklace
One of my favorite items to wear for the spring/summer season is a romper since it’s a simple piece that can be accessorized and paired with details that give it an effortless look. This particular romper is sleeveless with pants and a bold print from the Kardashian Kollection, which is available at Sears. It naturally comes with a bright neon cloth belt that ties at the waist, but I swapped it out for a thin skinny belt to give it more of a chic look and feel. I also rocked a bright neon shoulder bag to make it pop.

Kardashian Kollection romper
Express skinny belt
Old Navy shoulder bag
