Rainbow Ombre Hair Tutorial with Garnier Color Styler

It's the classic approach to hair that I have always found captivating, meaning less is more.  I consistently kept the exact same hairstyle and color for years, and oddly enough, enjoyed it.  Upon further contemplation, the mundane hair routine went dull after so many years and a solution was absolutely necessary.  However, the whole concept of coloring my hair scared the life out of me.  What if my hair transforms into another color?  What if I don't like how it looks?  What if it never comes out?

I've partnered up with Garnier to share my favorite "Sunday Fun-day" hair using their temporary Color Styler hair color in blue, pink and purple shades for a fun beach day with friends.  Color Styler is a new line of temporary, hair color that comes in 5 different shades and it washes out after a few shampoos!  It's fun to do on the weekend with your girls, without having to permanently maintain.  Check out my latest How-To video where I should you how I get ready for a "Sunday Fun-day" at the beach, with the easy-to-use Garnier Color Styler.

Try out this fun hairstyle and snap a selfie for Instagram!  Be sure to include the hashtag #FunnestGirl and a caption on why you are the funnest girl and you could win the Title of "The Funnest Girl In The World" by Garnier Color Styler.  Garnier Color Styler will choose a real girl to become the Color Styler spokesmodel for 72 hours and she will be featured on Color Styler's social media platforms!  For details, visit the Color Styler website.

Last-minute DIY Valentine's Day gifts

Valentine's Day is right around the corner, as in directly creeping around the corner, and one of the most asked questions is what to purchase for a significant other.  DIY Valentine's Day gifts are not only affordable, but they typically mean much more to whoever may be receiving them because there was some thought put into creating them.  Therefore, here is a video incorporating four different DIY gift ideas for a man or woman:

1) A custom box of chocolates

2) An at-home date night box

3) Sweet vouchers

4) A custom "sweet letter"

See how to create these DIY Valentine's Day gifts here:

Video: Hunger Games Catching Fire Inspired Tutorial - CoverGirl Makeup + Nails

As many of you may already know, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire movie releases on November 22nd as the sequel to the epic Hunger Games trilogy which is based on the novel that has sold over 50 million copies in print in the U.S. alone.  If you haven't seen the fire Hunger Games movie (perhaps you have been living under a rock), then I highly suggest checking it out prior to November 22nd.  Although a science fiction themed movie may not sound appealing to some, the movie has actually sparked quite the stir in the fashion and beauty world.  The upcoming movie not only features handmade designs but also pieces by Alexander McQueen, Juun J, Nicholas K, and Tex Saverio.

Aside from the fashion, legendary music icon Lenny Kravitz and celebrated actor Jeffrey Wright will star alongside Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Philip Seymor Hoffman, Stanley Tucci and Donald Sutherland.

In the spirit of the The Hunger Games: Catching Fire opening, I've recreated the District 2/Masonry look from CoverGirl's "Capitol Beauty Studio" which features 12 district looks inspired by the movie.  It's an edgy, yet sultry look that can be worn as both dramatic or casual.  Dotti, CoverGirl Capitol Makeup Artist says of the inspiration behind this look,
" I went for a matte, chalky, yet elegant finish that represents the stone of Masonry in a feminine way."

New Video: How to Pamper Yourself with a DIY Girl's Night In

Every girl needs a little R&R (rest and relaxation) once in awhile.  Am I right or am I right?  On those Sunday nights when I just want to stay at home and relax, I enjoy creating my own little "DIY Girl's Night In" by making my home a spa in itself.  This would also be a great idea to try out with your closest girl friends by inviting them over for a cozy night in.

No "Girl's Night In" would be complete without:

Beauty Tutorial: CoverGirl Natural Summer Look

Have you ever been outside on a hot, summer day and your makeup feels as though it's falling off your face?  Oh, me too.  One of the most tried and true methods for keeping summertime makeup light is to either apply a tinted moisturizer or simply wear a thin based foundation with SPF.  In this beauty tutorial, I am featuring CoverGirl's Simply Ageless Foundation with SPF along with a few other high and low end cosmetic items to complete a natural look that is perfect for a warm summer day.

This look would pair well with a light-toned summer dress or a bright maxi skirt and a loose fitting graphic t-shirt.

Happy Monday, everyone!  Who watched the Emmy's last night?  Some of my favorite looks were worn by Sofia Vergara, Julianne Hough, January Jones, and of course, Heidi Klum (who rocked that minty/seafoam dress)!  Sofia Vergara's sexy, bombshell look was gorgeous so I filmed a complete beauty tutorial to replicate her 2012 Emmy's look.  What were your favorite Emmy's looks?  Enjoy ;)
