Top 10 Quotes To Change The Way You Live And Think

"Wearing confidence in every part of your life can completely transform your character and surroundings.  If you don't believe in yourself, nobody else will."

In light of starting off the upcoming week fresh, I'm sharing my top ten quotes to change the way you live and think.  It's distinguishable that we all experience ups and downs, life doesn't always go as planned, and it often times leaves us devising a plan for how to change.  Change has many negative connotations, but it doesn't need to be viewed in poor light.  There are a number of occurrences that I have undergone in my life, believe it or not, but it's the perception of how I handled each situation that allowed me to keep pushing.

Therefore, here are some of my favorite motivational and inspirational quotes to change your thoughts and life.  I hope you enjoy!

Often times we are afraid to take a risk or change an aspect of our lives, but don't realize that new opportunities and experiences lie on the other side.

Wearing confidence in every part of your life can completely transform your character and surroundings.  If you don't believe in yourself, nobody else will.

I continually tell my family and friends how important positivity is, and the power of instilling good energy throughout your life.  The best course of action is to put positive thoughts out into the world, and good things will come to you.

It's easy to start something and never finish it, but it takes strength and hard work to keep it in motion.  Whether it be a relationship, a job, losing weight, or moving on to bigger and better things, life is constantly in motion and it's important to keep pushing through.  Don't stop just because you hit a fork in the road.

You're bound to meet confrontation in the face at some point, but it's how you react to situations that control your way of thinking.  Nobody can make you feel inferior unless you allow them to.  Stand up for yourself and what you believe in, with no fear.

As human beings, it's only natural that we tend to hold on to people, places or things that we believe identify who we are.  If you believe that something or someone is holding you back from accomplishing your dreams, let it go.  You are capable of what your mind allows you to.

Girls or women often feel self-conscience about appearance, relationships, or life in general.  Don't let one failure keep you from trying new experiences or moving forward in your life.  One downfall doesn't rule your existence, it makes you stronger.

Don't expect a magical fairy to come along and change your life or suddenly give you everything you've ever wanted.  If you want something, go out and get it.  Don't sit around waiting for life to happen to you.

Each person is a unique character, and owning who you are is what makes you special.  When you stop caring about what other people think of you, or block out the negative parts in your life, you'll be surprised how much your life will change.

A good friend of mine once told me "only you can change your world" when I was going through a terrible moment in my life, and it resonated with me.  You have control over your mind, body, and surroundings.  If you allow something or someone to abuse you or control your thoughts, you have given them power over you.  Live your life for you, and nobody else.

Off the Grid

And just like that, I'm shooting photos in a 30-degree parking lot.  Whenever I travel up north to see my family, I tend to be the overdressed Asian wherever I go.  Despite my apparent love for oversized marshmallow snowsuits and moon boots, I appreciate structured pieces as well.  Hence, the windowpane suit by Express.  A statement suit is great to have in the closet to wear as one piece, or break it up for varying looks.

Royals

Lo and behold, I find myself back in Miami Beach after a long trip home to see my family and a quick little business affair in the city that never sleeps (New York City).  Relaxing, in both the literal and sartorial sense, has never really been my forte.  I somehow tend to end up as the apparently overdressed  person at the movie theater or 5-inch heels as I peruse through a grocery store.  On the other hand, anybody can appreciate a great wide leg pant or jumpsuit for comfort and style.

One of the simplest go-to pieces that has infested itself in my closet is a jumpsuit - there's something easy and breezy about throwing on a no-fuss one-piece that makes even the worst days improve.  A monochromatic look also keeps the look chic without bombarding the piece.

And just like that, we find ourselves wearing crop tops and pajama pants in Miami Beach.  Upon my last rendezvous in New York City, I managed to make a quick visit to the Topshop in Soho to grab the basic essential fashion pieces (crop tops and printed pajama pants of course).  Let's just say I've been living in them ever since.  I have a love-hate relationship with the weather around this time of year, as I usually end up wearing abdomen-baring tops and loose-fitting pants while everyone else in the nation has the benefit of throwing on multiple layers without melting.  On the other hand, one can't really complain too much about ocean breezes and palm trees for days.

Nonetheless, forgive me for flashing my stomach but it's one of the only tolerable wardrobe choices at the moment.

The Leather Brigade

Upon careful consideration of Fall/Winter wardrobe staple apparel pieces, denim and leather have seemingly fallen into place.  Also known as the "new classics," denim and leather pair perfectly well together for a sexy and edgy look.  The force behind styling a ready-to-wear street look is to select garments and change the traditional way of wearing them drastically.  Instead of a thick denim shirt with casual jeans, lightweight chambray button-ups, or leather overlays and ankle booties to show a peek of that ankle cleavage (is that even a fashion term?).

Whatever you do, add some standout accessories to polish it off and boom - biker chic just happened.

Team of Two with Honey Maid

Let's face it – Summer is coming to a close, but beach days in Miami occur pretty much every day of the week. If I could live on a private beach or island, keep my feet in the sand, and eat endless snacks with my son, my life would be complete. Therefore, I'm teaming up with Honey Maid to highlight some of my family's favorite wholesome snacks for everyday beach trips (since I clearly take trips to the beach Monday through Friday).  As a single mom, sometimes it's not always easy being a "Team of Two" but we make it happen.  From making him a wholesome breakfast, snacks and lunch, playing with race cars, chasing him around, and teaching him to swim, it's all worth it.  No matter how things change, what makes us wholesome never will.

Whenever my son and I plan a beach trip, I like to create little “bento boxes” of wholesome, nutritious snacks that we both love. I think it's fair to say that pretty much every child loves Honey Maid graham crackers, since life began. Therefore, we throw some fresh fruit, raisins, graham crackers, and cheese into bento boxes for a delicious oceanside treat.

What are some of your favorite wholesome snacks?

In the midst of sweating off every inch of my body in unbearable heat, I stumbled upon this garment creation.  Although I've been living in crop tops and denim shorts all Summer, occasionally I switch it up with skirts of course.  I wore this particular look while out scouting preschools for my little guy (it may appear as though it's a tad bit overdressed but it was the only outfit that allowed my body to breathe).  Nonetheless, throwing warm and neutral tones into my wardrobe was much needed after living in black and white combinations over the past month.

Indeed, wearing bright colors can be somewhat overkill.  Hence, white heels and a nude skirt to even it all out.  Voila.

I have an announcement to make.

It's probably pretty ridiculously obvious how much of a health freak I am, aside from my love for fashion and food.  If my words are not enough, then check out my Instagram for proof.  Over the course of about six or so months, I have been working on a project for you guys that I am quite excited to share with you.  In between snapping photos with my tripod in face-melting weather, turning into a gourmet chef as I whip up macaroni and cheese or chicken nuggets for my toddler, or transforming my condo into a video shoot, something developed.

Without further ado, I launched an eBook dedicated to harnessing positive thoughts and healthy habits.  The eBook encompasses a range of healthy recipes for radiating mornings, beauty tips, inspiration, and even some of my favorite workouts and juice recipes.  Creating a radiant life isn't only reliant on eating habits, but mind, body, style, and so much more.  Hence, my first eBook, Chic Eats: Radiate Your Mornings.

While I live in Miami Beach, I legitimatelly have been rocking black monochromatic looks quite often lately.  Despite the immediate sweat-induced weather, there's something classic about an all-black look that I love so much.  There's also something to be said about not wearing a bra, ever.  I'm not burning my bras or anything, but it does feel quite fantastic.  In combination with the whole braless phase, my take on a tux for women also occurred.  Typically, a full piece tux would require meticulously checking to make sure everything is in place and tucked in.  However, this particular look works well enough to handle the face-melting heat without feeling as though I'm sweating my life away through every pore.

Although the Northerners may question my lack of certain undergarment pieces through the dressing routine, this is the result of suffering 90 degree heat each and every day.
