OOTD: The Perfect Daytime Look

Although it's September and the weather is cooling down in various locations, it still remains HOT HOT HOT in Miami (which is one of the reasons why I love this city)!  My hair might not love it so much, but we make it work.

Today's look is the ultimate daytime outfit because it's casual yet still adds a bit of femininity as well.  I combined a lightweight, neon top with a simple pair of denim shorts and cinched it at the waist.  I'm also rocking a pair of chunky heels that are absolutely comfortable so I can run around all day in these babies!  What's your go-to daytime look?

What I'm wearing:
ZARA tank
Cotton On top
Target belt
F21 shorts
ALDO handbag

Happy Monday everyone!  I hope you all had a great weekend.  For today's post, I'd like to share with you some of my favorite looks for the 4th of July.  I created a look for the beach, a party or a backyard BBQ.  These are just some ideas that you can recreate or put your own spin on them to make them your own.  Which one is your favorite?

How I Organize my Clothing and Accessories

As I've mentioned before, I am very detail-oriented and organized so I am always coming up with new ways to organize items in my condo (or life in general)!  My next project is my closet, but that's a completely different story which just might take me a decade to finish.  I've devised some space-saving and creative ways to organize my various accessories, clothes and other items.  What are some of your organizational tips?  I would love to know!

Previously, I kept my jewelry in a standing jewelry organizer but I like this method better because I can see my pieces right up front and it serves as inspiration when I'm piecing looks together.  I found a similar version here.

In the past, I've kept my shoes in their original boxes and stacked them in my closet but I was looking for a way that I could have them out on display so I can easily grab a pair by viewing my collection.  Unfortunately, I didn't purchase enough of these stacked cubby organizers so I'm running out of room already.  However, they are great for keeping my shoes out in the open and allow me to showcase the pairs that I wear most often.  Here is a similar version.

Here are some of my most worn pairs for the spring season (plenty of open toe or sandal platforms)

After a wondrous trip to IKEA, I scooped up these white boxes with metal finish to store some of my accessories.  I wanted to save some space in my closet so I bought these storage boxes for about $10 and they came in a pack of four.  As you can see, I've labeled them so I can easily find what I'm looking for.

This is an easy way for me to organize my shorts without having to hang them up in the closet, where they occupy too much space.

My clutch purses store perfectly in these boxes.

3 Different Pieces and 5 Styled Looks

Putting looks together can be quite simple, as long as you have a few key pieces that can be paired with multiple items.  Three of my favorite pieces in my closet are: a denim dress shirt, white skinny jeans, and a printed scarf.  What I love about these pieces is that I can pair them with so many other items to create various outfits.  I've put together 5 different looks that can be achieved with these three pieces just to show that you don't need a ton of clothes to to pull off various looks.  What are some of your favorite items?

Lady in Red

During the spring and summer seasons I love wearing rompers because they are so simple to throw on, yet chic and feminine.  They can also be dressed up or down, depending on the occasion.  In my Spring Trends blog post, I featured a lightweight floral romper that I paired with some neon heels.  However, today's OOTD showcases this silk romper that I scooped up at Bebe.  What drew me to this piece was the bold color in addition to the detailing and pleats.   Therefore, it's one of my favorite items in the closet as of now.  I decided to go for a bit of a casual look by pairing it with some simple snakeskin sandals, but I also added a big statement necklace and a chunky bracelet with my gold watch.  Adding bold accessories to a solid piece can create a very chic look.

What I'm wearing:
Bebe romper
F21 necklace & bracelet
GUESS watch
Sally Hansen nail strips

Neon Silk and Metallic Accents

What else would I be doing at 11:30pm on a Tuesday night than posting my blog of the day?  For today's OOTD I paired this gem of a top with some sequin shorts and metallic accents.  Combining neon with metallic accents can really make your look pop, or if you aren't as daring you can always choose your preference to add to your look to complete it.  For example, pairing a simple bright top with a neutral maxi skirt can go well with a skinny metallic belt and heels.  Whichever way you choose to dress it up or down, it can ultimately look amazing together.  XOXO.

What I'm wearing:
Cotton On blouse
Express shorts
ALDO clutch
Anne Klein watch
F21 earrings
China Glaze nail polish
ESSIE nail polish

How To Revamp Your Spring Wardrobe: 10 Must-Haves

A great way to revamp your spring wardrobe can be done by simply adding (or keeping) 10 essential items for the new season.  There are a few trends that have carried over to the spring, so not all winter items have to be pushed to the back of your closet.

Here are my 10 essentials for the new season:

  1.  Neon - A lightweight neon top can make any outfit pop
  2. A Bright Blazer - Adding a cotton bright blazer completes the look
  3. Metallic Clutch - Pairing metallic accents with simple pieces or prints can look great together
  4. A Floral Dress - Every girl needs something very feminine in her closet, and what better way to pull it off than a pink floral dress?
  5. Lightweight Pants - I love to throw these on with a white tank underneath and a skinny belt
  6. Pastel - Without looking like an Easter egg, you can incorporate pastels in a subtle way by rocking light pinks, purple, mint green or light blue
  7. A Printed Blouse - These look wonderful underneath some high-waisted shorts or pants
  8. A Colorblocked Tote - Perfect beach bag
  9. A Bright Skinny Belt - The ideal way to cinch up a blouse, dress, or pants
  10. Simple Black Shorts - They go with everything!

3 Ways To Wear A White Blazer For The Season

One of my favorite wardrobe staples is a classic white blazer, as it complements various items in my closet.  What's great about a white blazer is that it can neutralize your look and dress it up or down.  The looks that I've put together for today's post are more tailored to the spring season; however, it's completely up to you and what you have in your closet.

City Girl Chic

For this look, I've paired a striped top with some bright lace shorts to give it a feminine touch yet keep it a little structured.  Pair it with a floppy hat, some classic black heels, and throw on your white blazer to complete this city chic look which is perfect for a daytime lunch with the girls.
Playfully Elegant

This look is completely feminine, which is why I love it so much.  Although I am constantly expressing my adoration for menswear as women's attire, there is something even more powerful about a glam look designed for an elegant woman.   I've paired a tiered tutu skirt with a neutral sequin top along with some Mary-Jane bow accented heels to further enhance the girlish look.

Weekend Casual

There is no reason why any woman/mother can't run her weekend errands and still remain stylish while doing so.  Therefore, I would rock this look to run some quick errands or do some shopping in the city.  Rompers are my go-to spring and summer items because they are cute yet simple.  I've added a neutral braided belt in addition to these low chunky heels for comfort. Pair it with a rolled up white blazer and you're ready to go!

Spring Trend: Florals and Neon

To be honest, I rarely ever wore floral print until last year.  My style has transformed to a mix of feminine yet edgy chic.  Therefore, I have really embraced floral prints during the Spring and Summer seasons because they are so delicate.  I also tend to wear plenty of rompers, skirts, and shorts when it's warm out.  Rompers are not only comfortable, but they can be paired with anything from blazers to a denim vest (depending on what type of romper).  For today's look of the day, I've paired this Urban Outfitters romper with some pink neon heels.  I like the contrast of delicate prints with something a little more bold and edgy.  Let me know what you think!

Friday Favorites: Spring Shoes

Happy Friday!!  For this week's Friday Favorites, I would like to showcase my favorite shoes for this upcoming season.  I'm estimating that the following shoe styles will be very prevalent in my Spring blog posts.  Check them out, and let me know what you think!

1) Platform heels - I love the chunky platform open-toe heels because they are great for warm weather and shorts/skirts.

2) Pumps - These brightly colored pumps are the perfect addition to any outfit for the Spring.

3) Accented Mary Jane Heels - The femininity of these heels bring out the delicacy of the upcoming season, and nude shoes go with everything!

4) Wood-bottom heels - These are the ultimate daytime shoe because they give you the right amount of height and color, yet remain casual at the same time.

5) Chunky, low heels - I like to throw these on when I'm running daytime errands and they go great with floral prints or shorts as well.
