Fashion for a Cause with Bloomingdale's - Event Video + Photos

Last night, over 20 fashion bloggers and I rocked the runway as bloggers against breast cancer for Fashion for a Cause at Bloomingdale's.  We began working on the campaign last month and teamed up in a collaborative photo shoot at the Sagamore, Art Hotel in Miami Beach along with talented photographer Alexander Tamargo to create a video installation that was unveiled at Bloomingdale's at our event.

As I mentioned in my previous post about the campaign, special guests Marisa Acocella Marchetto (Glamour cartoonist and author of Cancer Vixen), Bob Carey, and Luis Valenzuela were available to meet and greet with guests while the fashion bloggers were prepping for the runway.  Guests also devoured gluten-free cupcakes by BunnieCakes, fro-yo by Pinkberry and sips by Perrier.

Marisa Acocella Marchetto, cartoonist, author of Cancer Vixen (published by Knopf), and founder of The Cancer Vixen fund which aims to empower women undergoing treatment at Beth Israel Comprehensive Center in New York

Luis Valenzuela, fashion designer and visual artist who created one-of-a-kind wearable art out of Bloomingdale's Little Pink Bags

Bob Carey, a commercial and fine art photographer and co-founder of The Tutu Project, which serves women with breast cancer and their families via The Carey Foundation

SoBlo styled our hair while Bloomingdale's newest cosmetic area, Illamasqua gave each blogger a fabulous pink-inspired look to pair well with our Peace Love World shirts.  As a runway blogger, I pre-selected and styled my look courtesy of Bloomingdale's and had an amazing time supporting a great cause.  As a niece of breast cancer survivors, this particular cause was close to my heart and I will continue to support breast cancer awareness.

What I Rocked: Jacket by All Saints | Top by Peace Love World | Sweater by All Saints | Skirt by Herve Leger | Necklace by BCBG Maxazria | Shoes by ZARA

Friday Favorites: My Hair Trends for Summer

For this week's Friday Favorites, I'd like to share with you guys some of my favorite hair trends for the summer!  I saw these on the runway and thought they were so creative.  I can't wait to try some of them out.  Sometimes, changing your hair style can make a world of a difference in your overall look.  If you're rocking some skinny jeans and a white top, do something special with your hair to make it more polished.  Let me know what you think of these!

1) A twist on your average ponytail, which doesn't look too complicated to achieve.

2) Add some hair bling with a sleek headband.

3) Incorporating hardware in your hairstyle can give you a bit of an edge.

4) The glamorous curls/waves will never go out of style.

5) Add volume to your hairstyle by teasing it at the base of your hair and pulling it back.
