Look for Less: Eva Longoria

"In order to be irreplaceable, one must always be different." - Coco Chanel

First of all, I'd like to say Happy International Women's Day to my beautiful and ambitious ladies out there!  After my first "Look for Less" blog post, I received a lot of positive feedback and requests for another one.  Therefore, today's post features yet another one - Eva Longoria.  I love the simple and casual look with just the right pop of color and handbag choice.  For this look, I paired a sheer collared shirt with some denim skinny jeans and these bright purple platform heels by Steve Madden.  Open-toe platform heels are the perfect Spring/Summer shoe.

For those of you who don't know, Jason Wu recently designed and launched a line for Target and everything nearly sold it immediately after it was released.  I managed to snag this two-toned handbag, which goes with everything!

What I'm wearing:
Guess gold watch
F21 blouse
ZARA skinny jeans

Friday Favorites: My Top 5 Spring Handbags

For this week's Friday Favorites, I wanted to highlight my top 5 favorite handbags for the upcoming season.  The following items are my must-have handbags for my Spring wardrobe: a color-blocked bag, an oversized daytime clutch, a printed bag, a classic black bag, and a two-toned tote.

When I really want to add a pop of color, I love to rock a color-blocked shoulder bag because it's simple yet bold.  Oversized daytime clutches are very chic right now, as they add a nice statement piece to your overall look.  In addition, I believe that every woman should own a printed bag because it can enhance a neutral look with one accessory.  Of course a classic black bag is a must-have because it goes with almost anything in a woman's closet.  Finally, I love to carry this two-toned tote when I'm going to the beach or running errands throughout the day.  Most of these bags are daytime purses/bags, but a few can be transformed for night looks as well.

1) Color-blocked shoulder bag - Vintage
2) Oversized daytime clutch - Steve Madden
3) Printed bag - ALDO
4) Classic black bag - JPK Handbags
5) Two-toned tote - Target

Friday Favorites: My Top 5 Spring Trends

Happy Friday everyone!  For today's Friday Favorites, I've compiled together some of my top 5 trends for the upcoming season.  Spring is such a beautiful season because the weather is amazing and it allows you to bring out some of your lighter and brighter pieces.  What are some of your favorite trends for the season?

Here are some of my favorite trends:

LEATHER - Adding a leather piece to any outfit can give your look a bit of an edge.

NEON - Bright and vibrant neon tones can really make any look pop.

MINT - Mint green is a beautiful pastel color that's very trendy this season and it can be as simple as adding minty nail polish to your nails to bring your look together.

DAYTIME CLUTCH - A large or oversized daytime clutch is simple and convenient for this upcoming season.

COLOR BLOCKING - Combing bold colors together add a bit of brightness to your look, so my spring wardrobe is filled with bright pieces.  I can't wait to pair them together.

Color Pop

One of my favorite rollover trends for this season is color-blocking for the simple fact that various bold colors can look beautiful together.  However, this is not to say that you should throw on every bright piece that you have in your closet.  It's almost like attending art class all over again!  Primary colors, complementary colors, analogous colors, and triadic colors look great together.  Primary includes red, yellow and blue while complementary colors are opposite on the color wheel (i.e. red/green, yellow/purple, orange/blue).  To dive into it a little deeper, analogous colors are typically next to each other (i.e. red, orange, yellow) and triadic colors are evenly spaced on the color wheel (i.e. green, purple, yellow).

For today's OOTD, I included the analogous colors red (pink), orange and yellow.  I'm very pleased with the outcome!  Let me know what you think.

Day to Night: Glistening in Red Heels

For today's post, I have featured an OOTD (outfit of the day) that can be transformed from day to night.  I wore it as a daytime look to run a few errands.  Whereas I typically wear 4-1/2 - 5-inch heels, I decided to rock a shorter heel with this look because I knew that I would be doing plenty of running around.  What is wonderful about this pairing is that it can be revamped to a night time look as well.  (i.e. I might simply pair it with black skinny jeans, layer it with a leather jacket, and some tall booties).  Enjoy!

What I'm wearing:
H&M sweater
H&M shorts
Forever 21 necklace
Nine West handbag
ALDO heels

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, lovers!  For today's post I decided to showcase some of my favorite health, beauty, home or fashionable items for the week.  These are items that I recently purchased and have been using often or I highly recommend to you.

Since it's been a little chilly lately, I have been wearing a lot of hats and scarfs and my latest hat fetish includes fedoras.

Those who know me must know that I absolutely love candles, and I probably go through them in two weeks.  Anyway, this peppermint cranberry candle smells so good (available at Target).

I've been using this ELF eyeshadow palette this past week, and it's great because it has 100 shades in almost every color option.  I also found this beauty at Target for only $10.  They had other palettes for $5 as well.

This clutch was actually gifted, but I love the detailing and color of it.  It's classic with the gold clasp and chain.  What's also great about it is that the chain can be worn with it as a shoulder bag or removed as a clutch.

Since having a baby, I've been very conscience about my diet and work out regimen.  I have been getting a lot of questions regarding what I eat, how I lost my baby weight, and what my work out plan consists of.  I'll post more at a later date, but for now I want to highlight these LUNA nutrition bars.  I LOVE these bars.  They are ideal for women because the calorie content isn't really high, but you still get a high enough amount of protein in each bar.

Essie is one of my favorite nail polish brands.  Lately, I have been switching out these three tones: 1) Buy me a Cameo 2) Clambake and 3) Sand Tropez.  You can purchase Essie at almost any drugstore or generic store.

Last but not least, these Steve Madden booties are definitely one of my favorites.  The first time I spotted them was while window shopping on Lincoln Road and I knew that I had to have them.  I actually wore these babies for New Year's Eve.  They are extremely comfortable too.

What are some of your favorite items?

Leather + 5 Inch Heels

I had my eye on a genuine leather skirt by Alexander McQueen, which was the inspiration behind today's outfit of the day.  For a more affordable price, I managed to snag a faux leather A-line skirt that gives the same look and feel that I was looking for.  Your closet doesn't have to be filled with all high end pieces.  Pairing high end pieces with chic, yet affordable items is how I style myself.  It's all in the details, honey!

What I'm wearing:
Rory Beca blouse
Forever 21 faux leather skirt
ASOS wrap-around belt
JPK handbag
