The minimalism of piecing together black and white pieces seems to be a recent unintentional addiction of mine, as it's been circulating quite often in my daily wardrobe.  I'm also quite obsessed with this Topshop crop top, so if it happens to make a cameo appearance on the blog more than usual, now you know why.  I love the way the V-cut of the top adds a feminine appeal that would otherwise be replaced with apparent cleavage or something of that sort (right?).

To contrast the edge of the black crop top and frayed shorts, I paired it with a delicate lace cardigan that oddly enough serves as a top.  Its typical role would be layered over a camisole and zipped in the back, but fashion has no rules so this happened.

What I'm Rocking:

A Hair Affair on Lexington Avenue

Products Yoshie used on my hair

In an effort to rid the accustomed method of zapping off inches of hair strictly one time per year, I recently had a hair date with Pierre Michel salon for a day of decadence.  The 10,000-square-foot behemoth of a monument sits at Lexington Avenue and 57th Street with over 61 workstations and three private treatment rooms.  Upon stepping foot into the salon, there was without a doubt good reasoning behind their 40+ year existence.  After visiting various locations in the city, Pierre Michel has maintained its recent location for about four years.  Every luxurious detail stood out: complimentary snacks and beverages at a marble-topped coffee bar, built-in massage chairs while being shampooed, free Wi-Fi, and even the bathrooms are accessorized with Dyson Airblade hand dryers.

After being draped in a Pierre Michel robe by one of their employees who has been loyal to the company for over 30 years, I was escorted to the shampoo room where I instantly sunk into the massage chair and felt utter relaxation.  Post-shampooing, I was advanced to consult with Yoshie, who is considered my go-to stylist whenever visiting New York City.  We discussed exactly what I wanted, how I typically style my hair, products to use, and she even inquired about the barrel size of curling iron that I use.  I placed my life in her hands as she artistically trimmed away at my locks, leaving me feeling like a million bucks.  I'm not the only who feels like a whole new woman after receiving a beautiful cut, right?  Let's just say I'm ditching any other hair stylist and flying straight to the city next time I need a trim.  Yoshie also introduced me to a hair service, Japanese hair straightening, which saturates the bonds within hair that gives its shape using a solution. Whatever the latest hair trends are, Pierre Michel covers it all.  Haircuts and styling start at $135, but it's completely worth it.

In addition to hair services, Pierre Michel also offers eyelash extensions, facial treatments, waxing, makeup applications, manicures and pedicures as well.  If you are ever in Manhattan, stop by Pierre Michel for a day of luxury.

Summer Essentials + Giveaway!

Summer is my favorite season for endless reasons - warm weather, beautiful sunsets, beach days with my little man, and cold watermelon on my lips.  In celebration, I'm sharing the top Summer essentials on my list and products or brands that this girl is simply loving right now.

The combination of high-end fashion and fine art make this line of clothing and accessories so beautiful.  Since 2012, Calaphya has built an array of gorgeous tops inspired by creating art and design for everyday life.  Whether dressing it up with an A-line skirt and heels or keeping it casual with a pair of black jeans, Calaphya tops have been my go-to on an everyday basis.

2. Flurowater
Hydration is key during the Summer.  After my recent trip to New York City, I was dehydrated and needed a pick-me-up (now enters Flurowater).  What makes Flurowater a favorite of mine is that it contains 14 nutrients, contains less than 10 calories, with zero sugar, 6 grams of fiber per bottle, and it makes drinking water a little more exciting.  Since I work out often and don't take many vitamins, this is my lifesaver.  It also comes in delicious flavors like Watermelon Raspberry, Kiwi Cucumber, Macoun Apple, and Dark Cherry.

3. Memebox
Subscription boxes typically offer sample sizes; however, Memebox offers 4-8 FULL-size beauty products to give the best experience.  After trying out various subscription beauty boxes Memebox has become my BFF not only for the full-size products, but all of the items are from Korea. If you haven't tried out Korean beauty products, you must try this out.  They are unique and amazing!

4. Hollywood Fashion Tape
Fashion tape should be in every girl's purse.  Whether sweat is dripping down your body, clothes are slipping or you're wearing a dress that needs a lift, Hollywood Fashion Tape helps keep it all together.

5. It's a Ten Miracle Leave-In Product
The Holy Grail beauty product for the Summer (or ever).  After showering and washing my hair, I apply the It's a Ten Miracle Leave-In Product for a silky all-day shine.

6. Anatomie Travel Clothing
Made of Italian and French fabrics, Anatomie travel clothes are essential for Summer trips when comfort and style is key.  When I was in New York, I wore their Merika Wind Breaker pretty much everywhere.  Anatomie also offers a custom "Find Your Pant" service where they take your measurements and information to find the exact pair of pants that fits best.  If I'm ever traveling and need pieces that will keep me comfortable on the plane but chic once I touch down, I gravitate to Anatomie.

7. Doll Face Skincare
As part of my everyday skincare routine, I've been incorporating the Doll Face Illuminating Face Polish, Anti-Oxidant Protective Moisturizer and Pore Perfecting Mineral Mask to keep glowing skin that stays fresh throughout the hot Summer days.  The Pore Perfecting Mineral Mask really helps clean out any toxins that enter during the days, when my face feels like it's melting off in 90 degree weather.

8. Maybelline Baby Lips
Maybelline Baby Lips contain the perfect combination of hydration, tint, and long-wear for lips.

9. Yes to Blueberries Cleansing Facial Wipes
The Yes to Blueberries Cleansing Facial Wipes remove all of my waterproof makeup in the Summer, without drying out the face.

Lose Weight for the Summer with Style By Lynsee & DeliverLean

Summertime usually means one of two things -  it's time to slim down to fit in that tiny bikini (or man-kini) or hibernate from all pools and beaches.  If you're anything like me, this doesn't quite hit you until May rolls around the corner and then it slaps you in the face that the time has come to shed those last 5 - 10 pounds.  Upon strategizing how to lose the weight, I was introduced to DeliverLean.  DeliverLean is a premier gourmet meal delivery company in South Florida that offers clean and fresh meals delivered to your doorstep.

As a pescatarian who tends to stray away from gluten and occasionally enjoys vegan dishes, I found it extremely helpful that the healthy food delivery service offers custom meal plans to fit my diet.  I usually cook my meals at home to save my body from any added preservatives; however, DeliverLean provides preservative-free meals prepared by gourmet chefs.  Let's face it, I'm a health freak and if you follow my Instagram then you probably already knew this by now.

When I received my first delivery on Monday, it felt like Christmas.  I stumbled out of bed and opened the front door to find a cooler filled with prepared meals for the next two days, and it was all completely healthy.  DeliverLean provides drop-offs every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The meals are 250 - 400 calories each, containing lean proteins, low-glycemic carbohydrates, high-fiber organic fruits and vegetables and healthy fats.   DeliverLean also brews up raw, cold-pressed OnJuice juices which may be added to a meal plan as well.  Aside from my meal plan, I also track daily consumption on an app called MyFitnessPal which allows you to record everything consumed with nutritional information included.

Let's get to the good stuff,  my meal plan...which has been incredibly delicious.

A typical two-day delivery under my meal plan includes:

Breakfast
Gluten-Free Caramel Apple French Toast with Coconut Yogurt
Southwestern Tofu Scramble with Peppers, Onions and Sweet Potato Latke

Lunch

Dessert
Desserts may be added to a meal plan, and range from 90 to 300 calories per dish.  Let's just say I almost died after trying the Gluten-Free Chocolate Molten Cake.
Raw Vegan Chocolate Mint Tart
Low-Fat Strawberry Cheesecake

Prior to beginning my summer meal plan, I measured and weighed myself so I'll be sharing results on my social networks.  For those who are looking to join the slim down for bikini season challenge with me, sign up for one month and receive two free days here!
