Color Pop

One of my favorite rollover trends for this season is color-blocking for the simple fact that various bold colors can look beautiful together.  However, this is not to say that you should throw on every bright piece that you have in your closet.  It's almost like attending art class all over again!  Primary colors, complementary colors, analogous colors, and triadic colors look great together.  Primary includes red, yellow and blue while complementary colors are opposite on the color wheel (i.e. red/green, yellow/purple, orange/blue).  To dive into it a little deeper, analogous colors are typically next to each other (i.e. red, orange, yellow) and triadic colors are evenly spaced on the color wheel (i.e. green, purple, yellow).

For today's OOTD, I included the analogous colors red (pink), orange and yellow.  I'm very pleased with the outcome!  Let me know what you think.

Day to Night Chic

Hi everyone!  Sometimes I don't really feel like changing my whole outfit when I'm shifting from day to night, so I like to transform my daytime outfit into a look for the evening.  For this OOTD, I wore a simple top with some black lace shorts and sandals for running errands during the day.  As the evening approached, I added some black tights, a tuxedo blazer and high heels.  I also added a statement necklace to enhance the look.  I love working with versatile pieces.  Let me know what you guys think!

What I'm wearing:
Daytime Look
H&M top
Material Girl shorts
Guess gold watch
Target sandals

Nighttime Look (pieces added)
Material Girl blazer

Suited Up in Bright Colors

One of my latest obsessions is fitted suits for women.  I love the trend of styling menswear for women because it gives a powerful look while remaining feminine.  When I saw this suit, it immediately reminded me of the suit from the Bottega Veneta Resort 2010 collection.  From the tailoring to the details, it is almost a complete replica of the featured suit.  The only difference is the tapering of the pants toward the ankles.  I adore the fit, material and color of this suit.  I paired it with a color blocked handbag and nude heels.  For those of you that aren't tall like me, throwing on a simple pair of nude heels can really elongate your legs to make you appear taller!
