New Video: How to Pamper Yourself with a DIY Girl's Night In

Every girl needs a little R&R (rest and relaxation) once in awhile.  Am I right or am I right?  On those Sunday nights when I just want to stay at home and relax, I enjoy creating my own little "DIY Girl's Night In" by making my home a spa in itself.  This would also be a great idea to try out with your closest girl friends by inviting them over for a cozy night in.

No "Girl's Night In" would be complete without:

Check out my "How to Pamper Yourself: DIY "Girl's Night In" video and let me know if you try it out!

Tribal.

One of my favorite fashion trends for the summer is showing off a little abdomen, and Miami has the perfect weather for such an outfit.  Actually, the weather is so hot that wearing no clothes at all would seem perfectly normal in my mind (although my body would not agree).  For today's look of the day I paired a cropped bustier from the Spring 2013 "Forever LA" collection with a pair of high-waisted, lightweight pants from H&M's Conscious Collection.  Although I have not been shopping as much at Forever 21 lately, this particular collection caught my eye with its bold and alluring pieces which feature a mix of graphic tribal prints.

According to Grazia Daily, "The Forever LA collection has two parts, the West Side and the East Side. The East Side is inspired by 90s urban Los Angeles style with vintage and alternative style pieces—think Fresh Prince of Bel Air. While the West Side embodies the laid-back vibe of LA with abstract prints, vibrant sneakers and crop tops.”  The face of the Forever LA collection is the timeless beauty, Cassie.

Gillette Venus "Step Up and Step Out" Miami Tour Stop

When Venus invited me to a summer glam experience to benefit Step Up Women's Network, what could I possibly say (but yes, please)?  The Gillette Venus "Step Up and Step Out" tour stopped in Miami last week on Lincoln Road, encouraging women to show off their look on the "blue carpet."  For every step taken on the “blue carpet,” Venus donated $1 to Step Up Women’s Network.

As a philanthropist myself, I am always down to support any cause that empowers women.  Step Up Women's Network is an organization dedicated to igniting women and girls to fulfill their potential, so Gillette Venus invited all of the ladies in Miami out to bring out their inner "Goddess" for this lavish event.

Women were invited to enjoy a luxurious shaving experience, have access to hair and makeup touchup stations, try on the latest spring and summer fashions from Rent the Runway, and strut their personal look on the “blue carpet.”  I had so much fun trying on various high-end designer items from Rent the Runway and walking the "blue carpet."

The shaving experience was luxurious, as I tried out the Gillette Venus & Olay Sugarberry razor

Touchup stations were complete with CoverGirl products for days!

For those who couldn't attend, you could simply tweet with the hashtag #StepUp and $1 would be donated in your honor.  Other tour stops included New York City, Atlanta, and Los Angeles.

The Perfect Casual Look for the Summer

One of my favorite items for the summer is my floral shorts, which can be dressed up or down.  In today's look of the day, I put together a casual outfit that I wore over the weekend.  An alternative to dressing these shorts down would be to pair them with a sheer black blouse or peplum top along with some strappy sandal heels or lucite pumps.  Since I was just out running some errands and having brunch, I decided to go for a more casual look that allowed me to stay pretty comfortable.

 What I'm Rocking:
Bag (Gifted from Italy)
Mossimo shoes by Target
Shorts by ZARA
Chambray blouse
Cuff by H&M

Beauty Tutorial: CoverGirl Natural Summer Look

Have you ever been outside on a hot, summer day and your makeup feels as though it's falling off your face?  Oh, me too.  One of the most tried and true methods for keeping summertime makeup light is to either apply a tinted moisturizer or simply wear a thin based foundation with SPF.  In this beauty tutorial, I am featuring CoverGirl's Simply Ageless Foundation with SPF along with a few other high and low end cosmetic items to complete a natural look that is perfect for a warm summer day.

This look would pair well with a light-toned summer dress or a bright maxi skirt and a loose fitting graphic t-shirt.

Silk & Lace.

Ever since New York Fashion Week, I've been swamped with projects so I have to apologize for my brief hiatus from blogging.  The weather has cooled down slightly in Miami, but it's given me a chance to pull out my fall and winter items.  One of my favorite ways to build a look together is to piece various textures or materials together to create a unified outfit.  For today's outfit of the day, I paired a silk flowing dress by BCBG Maxazria along with an edgy belt to cinch it at the waist and lace tights.  I added a hint of leopard print to add a bit of fringe to the overall look as well.

A new trend for the upcoming season is the black and white combination, which I am also loving right now.  Therefore, I threw on a bold black and white clutch to accent the look and finish it off.

What I'm Rocking:
BCBG Maxazria silk dress
H&M tights
ASOS belt
Steve Madden clutch
Guess watch
