New York City to Miami Beach

fashion blogger, miami fashion blogger, new york fashion blogger, outfit of the day, lucky magazine, teen vogue, popsugar blogger, forever 21, h&m, h&m shorts, h&m kimono, kimono, silk shorts, black sandal heels, target style, mossimo shoes, rose gonzalez bracelets, la mer collections watch, white blouse, new york city, times square, miami beach, south beach, summer fashion 2014, summer trends, lynsee hee kyeong, style by lynsee

No matter what the circumstances are, putting toes in the sand is a prerequisite whenever disembarking from a trip to New York City.  Without the influx of unsuspecting on-goers flooding the city streets and remaining buried in the e-mail inbox of my iPhone, it gives me time to take a breath and reboot.  It also doesn't hurt that there's a view of luminous water along with the gritty sand between my toes (to make up for the millions of miles walked in the city).  Is it just me, or does anybody else walk endlessly in NYC?  I either end up 16 miles from my origin, in conversation with a born-and-bred New Yorker who somehow has a love/hate relationship with the city, or at the top of a skyscraper watching the sunset as I rest my burning legs.

It's interesting how some New Yorkers will express how the city isn't quite what it conveys itself to be at all times - the sidewalks are coated in garbage bags, winters are more dreadful than walking to the Top of the Rock in 4-inch heels, rent is outrageous, the Summer is sticky, and tourists are vexatious.  But at the end of the day (or lifetime), they won't leave the city.  I'll give it to ya' New Yorkers, you're loyal.  There's an allure about New York City that keeps me coming back, but I can't say that I don't enjoy returning to sunny Miami Beach in all of its sweaty glory.  Any city can be as magnetizing as it wants to be.

Despite my continuous ramble, the conclusion from all of this is:
  1. Explore something new - whether it's traveling to a new city or simply taking a new route to work in the morning, get out of your everyday routine and try something you've never done before
  2. Get up and move - don't just sit around waiting for life to happen, make something happen
  3. Do what you're passionate about - you can do whatever you want or whenever you want

3 Different Pieces and 5 Styled Looks

Putting looks together can be quite simple, as long as you have a few key pieces that can be paired with multiple items.  Three of my favorite pieces in my closet are: a denim dress shirt, white skinny jeans, and a printed scarf.  What I love about these pieces is that I can pair them with so many other items to create various outfits.  I've put together 5 different looks that can be achieved with these three pieces just to show that you don't need a ton of clothes to to pull off various looks.  What are some of your favorite items?

Mixing Prints

One of my favorite ways to bring an outfit together is by incorporating different prints.  Combining various prints such as animal print, stripes, tribal or polka dots can look great if put together well.  I decided to go with a bit more of a casual look for today's OOTD by combining a green striped top with some distressed jeans and a polka dotted scarf.  Scarves are also a simple way to complete an outfit with very little effort.  Enjoy your Thursdays, guys and dolls.

What I'm wearing:

Friday Favorites!

It's Friday, loves!  For this week's round of Friday Favorites, I have included some of my favorite beauty and fashion items.  I also added a few healthy lifestyle items.  I was not compensated for this blog post nor was I asked to write about the following brands.

This "Rich Girl" lipstick is one of my favorite beauty items.  I use this almost every day!  I received this particular one at a fashion show; however, I'm sure they carry it at Sephora or ULTA.

Since I am quite the "busy mama" lately, I thought that this planner was cute and keeps me organized.  I like to keep my life clean and organized so this can really help a lady out sometimes!

Although wearing heels is great, sometimes I need to rock some flats.  Therefore, I like to carry these flats around with me from time to time so I can just throw them on if necessary.

I've been using this Line Stiletto liquid eyeliner by Maybelline for quite some time now.  It's great if you are looking to create a nice cat eye.

This purse is the perfect daytime handbag, and I've been using it almost every day this week.  It was gifted from ALDO.

Last but not least, I received these inspirational books and affirmations yesterday!  I love positive literature.  As most of you know, I believe that whatever you desire can come to you as long as you remain positive about your life.  I hope you enjoyed Friday Favorites.  Enjoy your weekend!
