Weekend Recap.

After what seemed to be the hottest weekend in Miami (literally), I managed to survive the scorching weather and spend some time relaxing.  My favorite day during the weekends is Sunday because all of the local Miami-ans migrate to Lincoln Road where the ritualistic farmers market takes place every week.  I love to go there and pick up local fruits and veggies for the week, grab an iced coffee from Starbucks, a sushi lunch at Doraku, and occasionally shop around.

Here's a little photo diary of my weekend:

Cosmopolitan Summer Splash 2012 Event Recap - Miami Swim Week

As many of you may know, this past week was Miami Swim Week/Fashion Week and the city of Miami Beach was packed with fashionistas from all over the nation.  I received a private invitation to attend this year's Cosmopolitan Summer Splash event which was presented by Pantene and of course Cosmopolitan Magazine.  I attended the event a few years ago when it was held at the Setai Hotel but this year's runway showcasing was at an even better venue, Soho Beach House.  It was the perfect setting to host a swimwear fashion show as the venue featured an elongated pool outside with appropriate seating areas for guests.  It was a fabulous event!

Furthermore, each seated guest received a custom Cosmopolitan tote bag with the following goodies inside:

1 Cosmopolitan beach towel
1 Samsara Imports bangle
1 bottle of Pantene moisturizer and styler
2 CoverGirl Blast Flipsticks (in Glimmer Lueur and Vixen Seductrice shades)
1 new issue of Cosmopolitan magazine
1 pair of Cosmopolitan sunglasses

VIP Grand Opening of FUNKSHION Studio 743 Recap

Last night I was invited to the VIP grand opening of FUNKSHION Studio 743, which was a beautiful event space right in the heart of South Beach.  This is set to be the new marquee event space in Miami, founded by Scott Robins of Scott Robins Companies, Inc. who owns a substantial amount of real estate within the area and is very well known in the media.  The layout of the event space was beautiful featuring LED lighting, over-sized hanging chandeliers, plasma TV screens, modern furniture, glass tables and a full bar.

As many of you know, I am collaborating with Kammron Taylor of New Classic Ent. to host Fashion RUSH 2012 during Miami Fashion Week next month.  The event will feature a two day event including a launch dinner event, a main event with multiple runway shows and complimentary wine/spirits/food, and an after party.  Last night I had the pleasure of being interviewed by the photographer and videographer for The Jackson family, Paul Murray.   I was given the opportunity to speak about my upcoming event which I was so excited about!  I will keep you guys posted once the footage is available.  Check out all of the photos I snapped below!

Friday Favorites: Raving Treasures

Happy Friday everyone!  For today's post, I want to showcase some of my favorite treasures of the week.  These are items that I've been using almost every day, or I'm just very pleased with the quality of them.  For example, I use this body wash religiously.  It smells so good and it has a hint of orange zest in it to wake me up each morning.  I've also been looking for a reliable drug store foundation, since I don't like to use my high-end foundations every day.  I decided to try out the Revlon 24-hour ColorStay foundation, which holds pretty well throughout the day.  The only down side is that I have to set it, otherwise it leaves my skin feeling a little oily.

I found these candlestick holders at a Japanese gadget store on Lincoln Road, which I am in love with.  The store is filled with modern items that can't be found in many other places.  I also picked up a cute backpack for my son (I'll show in a later post).  Furthermore, my breakfast typically consists of Quaker Weight Control oatmeal and it is so yummy.  I recommend this brand and flavor to all of you.  As for the candles I've shown below, I grabbed this steal at Pottery Barn.  They were only $3!  What are some of your favorite items?

What's in here:
1) Clean & Clear Pomegranate and Orange Zest body wash
2) Revlon 24-hour ColorStay foundation
3) Candlestick holders from a Japanese store on Lincoln Road
4) Quaker Weight Control oatmeal in Maple & Brown Sugar
5) Pottery Barn candles

Miami Wine & Spirits Expo

Hi everyone!  How was your weekend?  I had a pretty busy weekend, but I was able to squeeze in some rest and relaxation as well.  I would have to say that the highlight of my weekend was attending the Miami Wine & Spirits Expo, yesterday.  For those of you who aren't familiar with it, the Miami Wine & Spirits Expo is a showcasing of various wine and spirits within the United States (primarily more localized).  Therefore, I was able to sample a variety of different wines and spirits!

As for what I wore, I decided to go with something pretty casual yet professional since I was going for business purposes.  I wore my short suit along with some sandals and a snakeskin bag (faux).  Here are some of the shots from the amazing event:
