Planet Beach Brickell: Grand Opening Recap & Photos

Recently, I had the pleasure of attending Planet Beach Spa's Grand Opening event where the contempo spa celebrated its Brickell location entrance alongside the Downtown Miami and Brickell Chamber.  With over 300 locations worldwide, the spa carries the most innovative devices and services in the industry.  Local business owner Natasha Gelman has become one of Planet Beach's newest franchisees and couldn't be more excited to take on this new development in the Mezzanine level of 1060 Brickell.

In conjunction with the celebration of opening the new Planet Beach location, the Mardi Gras meets Carnivale theme was apparent throughout the entire spa.  Once I arrived, I was greeted by Natasha and her team with a glass of bubbly while guests nibbled on light bites and walked through the vicinity to check out their services.  After receiving a tour of the spa, I was impressed with the quality of automated spa services offered.  For example, the spa provides massages, facials, hydration treatments, teeth whitening, red light therapy, nutritional supplements and a skincare line.

The devices that caught my attention were the Slim Capsule and Hydro-Derma Fusion which combine heat, light and massage to burn calories while hydrating the body.  They reduce appearance of cellulite and help lose inches as well.  Word on the street is that Kim Kardashian has one of these devices in her home to help shed the pounds!  How much better can this get?  It's like a massage and calorie burn all in one sitting (literally).

Natasha's main purpose for bringing a Planet Beach spa to Brickell is to provide people with a new way to relax, unwind and de-stress.  The monthly membership spa allows clients to receive luxury spa services while maintaining a budget that meets their monthly needs.  I had a chance to test out a few of their services, and my back was screaming for more.

For more information or to check out the spa for yourself, go to www.PlanetBeach.com and tell them StyleByLynsee.com sent you!

On days where I have plenty of running around to do or I'm just looking for a casual outfit to rock, I throw on a pair of skinny jeans because they are timeless in any season.  These Ripped Serena Skinny Jeans by 2B Bebe have a distressed light wash to them that can be dressed up or down.  Light wash denim is considered the Queen of the Denim World right now, so these skinnies are right on trend as well.

Although my outfits are typically dressed up, I decided to play around with the sporty look and feel for today's look of the day.  Focusing on these paneled House of Dion pants, I went for a more structured approach by cinching layered tops at the waist with a leather belt by ASOS.  The cinched belt adds a feminine touch that creates a balance between sporty and chic.

This look is really great for those who have a smaller frame because it accentuates the top and hip area to give a curvaceous appeal.  My inspiration for this look derives from my love for health and fitness, which I really wanted to merge into a uniform outfit.  Pairing a sporty piece such as paneled pants, a sporty skirt or shorts with a feminine top can really create a polished look.

Mid-Heels + Pajamas

Today's look combines a number of my favorite fall trends, including the ever-so-comfortable pajama pants (pajama shirts are also trending) and mid-heels.  I'm typically a 4 or 5-inch heel type of girl, but I'm really loving the comfort of wearing mid-heels for the new season.  Therefore, I paired these Nine West metallic heels with silky cobalt blue pajama pants by ZARA.

Mixing prints and textures is another love of mine, so I added a bit of a nautical touch with this vintage belt that I found at a local boutique.  Of course, a girl can never get enough gold too.  The chiffon H&M blouse is exceptionally versatile, as it can be worn a number of different ways or to dress up/down a look.

Back to School Series: A Pop of Color [#1]

It's about that time again - back to school season has begun!  Aside from new beginnings, friendships and memories, the much anticipated "first day of school outfit" must be chosen at least two weeks in advance (or maybe that was just me prior to my first day of school).  Preparing for the first day of school can be both exciting and nerve-wrecking all at once, so I put together a lookbook of a few of my foolproof outfits for the first week of school.

Comfort is a key factor in choosing a look for school since there is plenty of walking and moving around throughout the day.  Rocking 5-inch heels to school is probably not the best idea.  My first look provides a summer pop of color, but remains fairly casual with a chunky sweater and bold patterned shorts.

Classic Embellishments.

Bal Harbour Shops is an open-air shopping mall known globally for its luxury retail stores and exceptional sales.  Located in an affluent area in Miami Beach, Bal Harbour Shops is ranked no. 1 in the world for productivity based on sales per square foot.  I recently had the pleasure of attending an Alice + Olivia event for Saks Fifth Avenue at the Bal Harbour location, which provided an opulent moment to snap photos of the look that I rocked on that day.

Housing top luxury brands such as Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana, Prada, Tory Burch, Audemars Piguet and Louis Vuitton, the upscale mall carries a posh atmosphere that resonates throughout the entire space.  I decided to wear a classic, yet comfortable outfit that wasn't too over the top.  My top is an embellished fabric with a bit of glitz so I kept my other pieces fairly basic to balance everything out.

Ultramodern Shimmer.

As one of the main highlights of the Spring/Summer 2013 runways, metallic clothing is shining with a fresh rendition of new fashion.  Combining pastels with leathers and high-shine textures creates a nostalgic effect that leaves an endless fashion statement.  I know what you may be thinking - aren't metallics for space age suits or Sci-fi movies?  No.  Finding a balance between elegance and a casual relaxed look is key to embracing the metallic trend.

Metallics pair well with confidence, a relaxed attitude, feminine pieces, basic black, and bold hues.  Silver metallics have a fundamental element that remains classic and adds an extra level of contrast to a variety of looks, reaching cutting-edge levels of polish with a futurist twist .
