Prior to my New York City trip there were a number of brunches, cocktail receptions, pool parties and runway shows filled by bikini-clad models for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Miami. Despite being able to reminisce on each and every one, there are particular ones that stand out the most. One that I did enjoy was the ASOS Miami Swim Lounge at Soho Beach House, featuring sun-drenched media, bloggers and other VIP guests for a quick poolside brunch and preview of the latest ASOS pieces.

Mercedes-Benz Swim Week was quite the model-strutting, trend baring experience this time around in Miami Beach. Despite sweating profusely and the endless foot blisters that I developed from attempting to rock heels all day, there were some gorgeous new collections debuted. Conveniently enough, I had access to the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week VIP Star Lounge where guests could nibble on light bites, grab a glass of bubbly, mingle, and refresh prior to the shows. Before Suboo's show, I had my makeup touched up by the Vincent Longo team and felt human once again.
Bold prints paired with sexy cuts offer a unique combination of distinctive swimwear that can be both wearable and luxurious. Australian-bred swimwear line, Suboo, debuted its 2015 Resort & Swimwear collection at Mercedes-Benz Swim Week with its signature melding of designer and contemporary fashion. Paired with minimalistic PANDORA charm bracelets, and neutral footwear introduces a fashion forward approach for a poolside cocktail.
I had a chance to sit down over brunch at the Mondrian Hotel alongside Suboo's Creative Director, Sue Di Chio, for a sneak peek at fashion show details later in the evening. Known for her chic sensibility, Di Chio put a twist on sporty swimwear by incorporating palm and tropical prints in addition to adding classic images of modern dance. Di Chio says,
"This season we were inspired by the aesthetic and movement of modern dance. This collection is all about taking a classic piece and deconstructing to both respect and free it simultaneously."
The show featured jewelry from PANDORA, shoes by Schutz, hair by Nick Irwin for Catwalk by TIGI, makeup by Vincent Longo, nails by Zoya, tanning by Per-fekt, and styling by Sarah Schussheim.

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim has officially come to an end, but the reminiscence of it still lingers around. To kick off the fashion mecca of sexy swimwear and 6-foot tall models wandering Miami Beach, FORD ARTISTS and Style Saves hosted a lavish beauty suite aboard the 100 foot Venetian Lady at the Fountainbleau Marina. Elite media and VIP fashiongoers hopped on the beautiful yacht for a little pampering featuring complimentary make-up applications, a pop-up Intermix shop, KEURIG coffee, Trina Turk lounge, blowouts, manicures, B-12 shots, massages by Exhale Spa, and KINARA Skin Care treatments.
Mercedes-Benz Swim Week is officially right around the corner, which means it's time to start lining up the best shows and events to attend. I know what you may be thinking - why is Lynsee wearing a sailor hat and holding a massively large popsicle? As part of "Our Summer Stories," 45 top Miami fashion bloggers and I shot at The National Hotel with photographer Alexander Tamargo for the 2nd Annual Escape Miami Style Lounge exhibit. My Summer story incorporates a voyage of new experiences and opportunities (with a little fun in the sun of course). Let me also add in there that lugging a huge popsicle around Miami Beach is quite an experience in itself.
Developing photo projects like this along with the Miami Fashion Bloggers is not only fun, but it's rewarding to see it all come together. On July 19th, the Miami Style Lounge photo installation will be showcased at The National Hotel. Hosted by the National Hotel Miami Beach, Peroni Nastro Azzurro and The Fashion Poet, this will be a must-attend event during Mercedes-Benz Swim Week. As quick note, you will want to grab your tickets now because they are limited.
Come mingle with us over complimentary cocktails and bites, spa and beauty treatments (Summer waves for the girls and beard trimming/haircuts for the guys), fashion illustrations, DIY flower crown sessions, and plenty of pop-up shops to find the latest fashion trends. There's even a gentlemen's corner this year for the guys to hang out, play some poker, and have an ice cold Peroni Nastro Azzurro brew. I know, I know...this is quite rare to find a fashion event that also caters to your beau but it's true. A fashion show begins at 3 p.m. so make sure you stop by for all of the fun!
In an attempt to stay tolerably toasty during New York Fashion Week, I had the pleasure of attending the Stylecaster Media Lounge at the ever so tranquil Buddakan restaurant in Chelsea. Located at 75 9th Avenue and 16th Street, Stephen Starr's incredible restaurant was the perfect hub for a media retreat which allowed for a little indulgence and recharging. Upon a welcoming greeting by Stylecaster's staff, I immediately gravitated to the infamous Italian roasters Illy where I could get a little boost before diving into some between show blogging.
There weren't many media lounges available aside from a few located inside Lincoln Center, so I was more than genial to get pampered in the Stylecaster Media Lounge. Aside from endless espresso, I also received a much needed massage from Beauty Booked in addition to a nail revamp by my newfound favorite nail brand - Mischo Beauty. Hairstyles and make-up stations were also available courtesy of Prettier Please, and eyebrow shaping by Elke Von Freudenberg.
If you aren't familiar with Stylecaster, the high-growth media and ad-tech company integrates technology with superior editorial content to drive beauty and fashion for brands and consumers. The Stylecaster Media Group houses its corporate office in The Big Apple, with more than 7 million unique monthly visitors and four owned and operated properties.
Stay tuned for future projects with Stylecaster X Style By Lynsee!
Upon my recent New York Fashion Week stint, I had the pleasure of viewing By Misha's latest whimsical collection through a glamorous journey of incredibly designed pieces. What began as a viewing of fashion designer Misha Vaidya's presentation, transformed into my participation in her New York Fashion Week Autumn/Winter '14 showcase at the Lali Lali Gallery. Located in the heart of Soho, the open loft space was reengineered into a playfully sophisticated venue with detailing just as flawless as the garments. It was a complete representation of the By Misha brand itself, as the elegance was manifest on each piece.
Prior to the presentation, we were styled by Prive Hair and Bobbi Brown Cosmetics along with nail applications from Mischo BeautyLuxury Nail Lacquer. Aside from the elaborate bun-updos and gorgeous nails, I was astounded by the level of perfection that was accomplished in 13 minutes.
High-profile guests included Bravo TV's Stassi Schroeder, of Vanderpump Rules (seen here with designer of Marylai New York handbags).
Guests noshed on Meg's Sweet Treats' miniature cupcakes, heart-shaped brownies and biscuits which paired quite nicely with Bacardi Gold Rum and Owl's Brew Tea for the ultimate fashion tea party during New York Fashion Week.
The By Misha Autumn/Winter 2014 collection redefined eloquence with a line filled with feminine textures, playful skirts, delicate blazers and patterns, which proved to be a perfect fit for confident and powerful women.

The chaos from New York Fashion Week has officially ended. Although the aura of the city is missed, there's nothing like waking up to warm weather once again. After the DKNY show I decided to take a stroll around the city (which ultimately turned into a 6 mile walk) and stumbled upon one of my favorite spots, Central Park.
Staying warm in New York is quite the mission, but it's attainable to still look stylish in cold weather. In other words, there is no excuse for rocking sweatpants and a baggy sweatshirt for the sake of being cold. One of my staple pieces for the winter is this chunky sweater be ELAN, which I've been layering multiple ways. An alternative way to achieve a similar look is to pair an edgy sweatshirt (like this one) with a plaid button-up (like this one) and a flared skirt like this one by French Connection.
Now that New York Fashion Week has arrived once again, it's only appropriate that I share my must-have items for the unprecedented moment in a fashion addict's life where one must run around the big city nonstop. There can't possibly be enough time in each day to attend all of the fashion shows, events or presentations in addition to finding time to eat. Therefore, my "Top 10" essentials should keep one pretty well prepared for the unexpected (meaning that cell phone dies in the midst of the day and the panic begins).
1) eos offers these perfectly sized lip balms that can easily fit in a small purse or cosmetics big inside a large bag. Since New York isn't exactly having tropical weather right now, lip balm is a must while braving the cold weather (especially if you plan on making the trip to Alexander Wang's most talked about show in Brooklyn)
2) A scarf is just something obviously everybody will need at some point in New York City
3) An oversized black handbag is a classic piece that is necessary for carrying everything that is needed for the day and saves one from packing numerous handbags or purses
Some other essentials for the purse include a:
4) Mophie juice battery pack in the event that a cell phone has a breakdown and needs to be recharged
5) I love this Evian facial water spray for rehydrating the skin through the dry and cold weather, or to simply freshen up in between shows
6) J. Crew has a great selection of colored cocoon coats which are ultra trendy for the season
7) UGG's Nicoletta boots will not only keep feet warm while walking from show to show, but they are made of the finest leather and look fabulous with anything
8) KIND bars are great for a little pick-me-up while on the go
9) Fashion GPS is a great app to help organize fashion shows invites within one platform
10) A long oversized sweater or sweater dress can be rocked multiple ways

Betsey Johnson, American fashion designer renowned for feminine and quirky designs, hosted the most dazzling event during Mercedes-Benz Swim Week in Miami this year. Filled with plenty of flare and pink galore, the launch party for her SS2014 swimwear collection was nothing short of fabulous. The inspiration behind her latest collection combined Betsey's energy and eccentric ability to combine innovative design elements from travel, new trends and ageless discoveries. Elite fashion bloggers, editors and socialites met on the rooftop of the Betsy Hotel (serendipity, right?) which overlooked a gorgeous view of Miami Beach's sandy beach.
“My swimwear is for the young and the forever young! It's fun and flirty and a little bit rock and roll. I want my girls to feel good in my suits so it's also all about the fit!”, said Betsey.
Guests enjoyed signature "The Johnson" cocktails infused with prickly pear puree, POM pomegranate juice and Russian Standard Vodka. Light bites were passed around as attendees jammed to a live DJ and beautiful models rocked Betsey's new swimwear collection. Guests were also delighted with a special announcement that Betsey partnered with Malibu Design Group on this collection.
“We are excited to partner with the iconic brand Betsey Johnson. This is a great way to expand our contemporary portfolio and we are honored Betsey is leading us there.” exclaimed Malibu Design Group president Henry Fan.
The Betsey Johnson SS14 Swimwear Collection will be available October 2013 at department stores and www.BetseyJohnson.com.
