One of my favorite new skincare discoveries for the fall season is Luv Ya Skincare, which is a comprehensive face line that offers formulations using natural active botanicals and pure essential oils.  I typically stick to Clean & Clear or Neutrogena for my daily facial cleanser, but after trying out this line I was highly impressed with the quality of ingredients in the products.

Luv Ya Skincare's Vitamin A Pumpkin Cleanser is like pumpkin pie in a bottle - seriously.  Applying this cleanser felt as if my face was devouring dessert, while providing nutrition to the face that firms and tightens.  Containing key ingredients such as Vitamin A and Beta Carotene, the formula left my skin feeling fresh and smooth.

After testing out the cleanser, I applied Luv Ya Skincare's Balancing Toner which helped cleanse a little deeper in the pores and really brightened up my face.  The toner contains a powerful ingredient, witch hazel, that I have used in the past and find it to effectively clean out my pores.

Aside from cleansing and toning, the skincare line digs a little deeper to refine the face and purify skin.  I also tried out the Kukui Nut Scrub as an exfoliator, which contains a volcanic source to wipe away dead cells without harsh abrasion.  I've used a lot of exfoliators that feel like my face is being ripped off, but this one is mild enough while still removing the dead skin with ease.  A few other favorites of mine are the C+ Collagen Serum and the Collagen Mask which made my skin feel absolutely amazing and gave my face a glow!  My skin is oily and sometimes skincare lines don't work well with my type, but Luv Ya Skincare really impressed me with the quick results.

As for daytime products, the SPF 30+ Moisturizer was the perfect enriching hydrator to put on under my makeup AND it blends well with cosmetics.  Do any of you know what I'm talking about?  There's nothing worse than applying a moisturizer that leaves your makeup looking like a greasy mess.  However, the SPF 30+ moisturizer contains no oil, which worked heavenly with my skin type.

At night, I tried out the Intensive Eye Cream with Murumuru (I had no idea what this was prior to trying it out, but it's a fruit from the amazon rainforest rich in nutrition and moisture).  Let's just say I went to sleep with dark circles under my eyes and woke up looking refreshened.

I'm not the type to give good product reviews for products that I don't honestly think highly of, so believe me when I say that the quality of Luv Ya Skincare is amazing!  If you are looking for a new skincare line for the new season, check it out at LuvYaSkin.com

DIY: Facial Scrub

As I mentioned in my Snapshot blog post, I would be posting my recipe for the DIY facial scrub that I used over the weekend.  It's made from everyday ingredients that you most likely have somewhere in your kitchen (and you could even eat it if you desire to do so)!  This will last for multiple facials as well, so you can keep it for future use.

What's in the scrub:
1 cup of brown sugar
1 Tablespoon of half-and-half
1/2 cup of honey
Optional: Thinly sliced cucumbers for your eyes

How to put it all together:
1) Gather all of your ingredients together.

2) Pour honey into a bowl containing brown sugar.

3) Add half-and-half.

4) Stir the mixture to form a consistent mixture.

5) Lie down in your robe or sit in a nice bubble bath, place some cucumbers over your eyes (to brighten them up), light some candles, and relax!
