Happy New Year, lovelies!  There's something refreshing about starting off the New Year with a clean slate so I decided to do a juice cleanse about three days ago and kept it pretty low key for the Eve.  While doing some holiday shopping I came across these two pieces that I pulled together for my "New Year's" look, and I love how they look in unison.  This particular look would be the perfect outfit for a night out or special event/gala as well.  The sequin top is the standout piece while the flowing maxi skirt give it elegance and a feminine touch.

Another component to this Express skirt that make it so unique is its leather waistband, which gives an edgy aspect that I absolutely love.

The Little Black Dress by Three Floor.

Every girl should have at least one essential item in her closet - the little black dress.  A black dress can save thousands of hours of the infamous "I have nothing to wear" dilemma that we all go through when we're getting ready for a night out or a special event.  Black ultimately looks slimming on all body types, looks great with all skin types, and it remains elegant for any occasion.

I am in love with the detailing of this dress by Three Floor (available at Rhythm of Grace), with its feminine silhouettes and various textures radiating throughout the entire piece.

The contrast of the dress' feminine shape and edgy detailing is what makes this such a sexy date night dress.  Since the dress is a standout piece in itself, I kept the accessories fairly minimal when styling this look with La Mer Collections' multi-chain wrap watch and strappy heels by Steve Madden.

Hailing from the United Kingdom, one of my favorite new designers is Three Floor who creates some of the most delicate and whimsical pieces.  Three Floor, named "brand to watch" by Vogue, combines edge and femininity by creating effortless silhouettes for women.  After discovering this beautiful cobalt "Shades of Blue" dress at Rhythm of Grace boutique, I absolutely fell in love with it.

Everything from the lace and mesh detailing to the seamless opening on the back of the dress screams "I am Woman", and it's right on trend with the cobalt shade splashed all over.  I'm also loving the grosgrain waistband that cinches at the waist and adds an ultra feminine aspect.

The Three Floor "Shades of Blue" dress is the perfect date night dress that can be paired with some simple nude heels, but I opted for a little more glitz by pairing it with my ZARA embellished shoes.  Rhythm of Grace also carries the China Blue Dress and Mischief Dress by Three Floor, which have a similar look and feel as this particular dress shown above.

All Blue Everything with 2B Bebe

Exposed midsections have been raging for the past few seasons, and an ab-flashing piece can be both sexy and bold.  On the other hand, it can be quite an obstacle to dive into (eating bird food and doing a strenuous ab workout every day might not sound that exciting).  However, there are pieces that provide a slight peek of abdomen without going overboard.

With this in mind, I have really been loving this new cobalt blue peek-a-boo dress by 2B Bebe.  Blue has been one of my favorite shades for the past few months.  There's something about the bold yet calming feel of the color that adds a powerful statement to any look.  This particular dress is detailed with a tribal studded arrangement that really stood out when I chose this daring number.  It's the ideal date night or girls night out dress.

What I'm Rocking:
2fer Forbidden Blue Studded Dress c/o 2B Bebe (also available in white and black)

Black Tie Gala and Red Carpet Event Recap

Over the weekend, I had the pleasure of attending a black tie gala and red carpet event for the 100 Black Men of South Florida organization.  If you aren't too familiar with the organization, they have chapters throughout the world that have touched the lives of over 500,000 young people through their Four For the Future: Mentoring, Education, Health and Wellness & Economic Development programs to improve the quality of life of citizens and enhance educational opportunities for the African-American community (primarily focusing on young males).

Their signature weekend kicked off with a college expo and scholarship fair, followed by the Warren Henry Auto Celebrity Golf Classic and the 10th Annual Signature Black Tie Gala.  It was empowering to be in the same room with other powerful professional players as we supported this amazing organization.

NFL legend Lawrence Taylor was featured on CBS at the celebrity golf classic which will air during the Super Bowl.  Miami-Dade Commissioner Jean Monestine, the honorable Manny Diaz, Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, VH1 Basketball Wives' star Kenya Bell, and two of the original Tuskegee airmen were also at the black tie gala.

What I wore:
Exclusive for INTERMIX silk dress
Target belt
Steve Madden heels
ALDO handbag

When I'm styling myself for a red carpet event or gala I like to keep it very glamorous and sleek; therefore, I curled my hair and swept it to one side to coincide with my one-sleeve dress.  The dress was a jewel-tone hunter green and made of 100% silk.  I kept my accessories and makeup minimal, as I wanted to keep it simple and chic.  I didn't really take many photos with my camera because I didn't want to be carrying around a huge Canon camera, but I took some shots of my look at home.

OOTD: Night Out - Paint the Town..Tangerine!

Although I haven't posted many OOTD's for a "night out" or "date nights," I absolutely love this dress for a night out on the town.  It's the perfect sexy, yet completely comfortable dress for a date night with your boyfriend or a simple night out with friends.  The bandage look of the dress reminds me of Herve Leger; however, this one is Guess by Marciano.  The tangerine color is gorgeous as well.  It's the perfect dress with a pop of color to make you stand out.  I've paired it with a neutral blazer if it gets chilly at night, along with my DIY heels.

This look was also featured in my YouTube styling video for transforming summer to fall pieces, which can be seen here

American Black Film Festival VIP Private Event Recap

Last night I had the opportunity to attend the American Black Film Festival VIP Private Event for opening night of the festival.  First of all, I'd like to give you a little insight on this festival which has been going strong for over 16 years.   ABFF consist of four days filled with movie premieres, master classes, panels, exclusive parties, contests and awards facilitating collaboration, education and deal making within the entertainment industry.

The event that I attended last night was an opening night soiree complete with the acclaimed director and actor Robert Townsend in addition to actress and event ambassador Tracee Ellis Ross.  In addition, director and actor Bill Duke was present as well.  It was a great turnout with many key players in the Miami community and entertainment world.  Unfortunately, I wasn't able to snap many photos because I was busy running around and networking but here are some shots from this amazing event!

I will be posting more photos through my Twitter and Instagram so make sure to keep up with me there!  @LynseeHeeKyeong

What I'm wearing:
H&M necklace
BEBE dress
ZARA heels
Guess watch
*I wore a blue blazer over my dress, but it was hot inside so I took it off.

In route to the event!

Snapping red carpet photos with producers, directors, etc. but I made sure to take one by myself for the blog =]

My necklace of choice for the evening!  I love the colors.

Shoes by ZARA, which I received so many compliments on!  The ladies loved them.

Another red carpet shot of my complete look.
I snapped a photo with this sweetie...she LOVED my shoes and let me know that she wanted to steal them.  Haha!
