What I'm wearing:
F21 blazer
Cotton On  denim shirt
Topshop shorts
F21 necklace
Target belt

OOTD: Rihanna-Inspired

Today's OOTD was inspired by a look that I saw on Rihanna awhile ago, but I loved how everything came together as a whole.  Denim chambray blouses are perfect for shifting into the upcoming season because they are lightweight yet can easily be thrown on to keep warm when it cools down at night.  What I really like about this look is how feminine the completed items look together.  It's perfect for a brunch with the girls or a lunch date!

What I'm wearing:
F21 top
Cotton On skirt
H&M necklace
F21 earrings
ALDO heels

How to: Quick and Chic Ponytail

Hey honeys!  I don't know about any of you, but there are some days where I don't feel like making a huge production out of my hair or putting much effort into it.  Therefore, I created this chic method of throwing my hair back while keeping it quick and easy to achieve.  It's a great way to give your hair an effortlessly classy look.

What you will need:
Styling spray
Small plastic hair ties
One large hair tie

1) Gather all of the items you will need to achieve this style.

2) Carefully start pulling all of your hair back into a sleek ponytail.

3) Secure the ponytail with a large hair tie.

4) Now you have a simply ponytail.

5) Start securing small hair ties throughout the length of your hair, leaving about 1-inch between each separation.

6) Spray some styling spray to keep any stray hairs down.

7) Voila!  Now you have a quick and chic ponytail that goes with anything.

3 Ways To Wear A White Blazer For The Season

One of my favorite wardrobe staples is a classic white blazer, as it complements various items in my closet.  What's great about a white blazer is that it can neutralize your look and dress it up or down.  The looks that I've put together for today's post are more tailored to the spring season; however, it's completely up to you and what you have in your closet.

City Girl Chic

For this look, I've paired a striped top with some bright lace shorts to give it a feminine touch yet keep it a little structured.  Pair it with a floppy hat, some classic black heels, and throw on your white blazer to complete this city chic look which is perfect for a daytime lunch with the girls.
Playfully Elegant

This look is completely feminine, which is why I love it so much.  Although I am constantly expressing my adoration for menswear as women's attire, there is something even more powerful about a glam look designed for an elegant woman.   I've paired a tiered tutu skirt with a neutral sequin top along with some Mary-Jane bow accented heels to further enhance the girlish look.

Weekend Casual

There is no reason why any woman/mother can't run her weekend errands and still remain stylish while doing so.  Therefore, I would rock this look to run some quick errands or do some shopping in the city.  Rompers are my go-to spring and summer items because they are cute yet simple.  I've added a neutral braided belt in addition to these low chunky heels for comfort. Pair it with a rolled up white blazer and you're ready to go!

DIY: Transforming A Simple Bookcase

I'm so excited to share with you my most recent DIY project that I dove into over the weekend.  As I mentioned before, I am revamping the decor in my condo and I decided to give my boring black bookcase a makeover!  It's a great way to add a little personality to any room, and it's simple to create.  I really appreciate the look of white furniture with silver accents because of the chic and clean look of it.  Currently, my condo has plenty of black furniture so I wanted to transform to something that is a little bit lighter in tone.

What you will need:
1 old piece of furniture (or furniture that needs updating)
3 cans of Painter's Touch Ultra Coverage 2X Spray Paint (Satin/Blossom White)
1 shower curtain
Decal print of your choice (I purchased mine from Designed Beginnings Wall Decals)
1 can of acrylic white paint
1 can of acrylic dark gray paint
1 foam paint brush

Step 1) Remove the shelving units from your bookcase.

Step 2) Gather your spray paint cans (from any local hardware or craft store).

Step 3) Take your shower curtain and lay it out on the surface which you will be painting on, to prevent from getting paint on anything else.
Step 4) Place your bookcase on top of the laid out shower curtain.

Step 5) Coat the entire bookcase and shelves with white spray paint.  Let it dry for 3-4 hours.
Step 6) Mix together your white and dark gray acrylic paints.  This step is optional, as I couldn't find a light gray tone that I was looking for.  Therefore, I mixed two colors together to create the look that I was going for.  Coat the entire interior of your bookcase with this paint mixture.  Let it dry for another 3 hours.
Step 7) Carefully remove the printed decal from its sheeting and place it on the back panel of your bookcase.

Step 8) Here is my finished piece!  I love how it turned out, and now it's inspired me to refurnish some other items in my condo.  Enjoy =]

It's All In The Details

As most of you may already know, neon is one of the latest trends for the spring season and I love incorporating this trend in my everyday look.  In my Spring Trend: Florals and Neon post, I featured a floral romper paired with some neon pumps that left me pleased with the results.  Today's look combines the pairing of detailed pieces with one neon accent to create an everyday chic outfit.  What I love about this sweater is the metallic coating in addition to the peep hole on the back.  It's the perfect little detailed item for this OOTD!  Adding an item with minor detail can bring your whole look together.

What I'm wearing:
H&M metallic sweater
F21 top
Express scarf
F21 jeans
Old Navy shoulder bag
Miss Sixty wedges

Friday Favorites: Raving Treasures

Happy Friday everyone!  For today's post, I want to showcase some of my favorite treasures of the week.  These are items that I've been using almost every day, or I'm just very pleased with the quality of them.  For example, I use this body wash religiously.  It smells so good and it has a hint of orange zest in it to wake me up each morning.  I've also been looking for a reliable drug store foundation, since I don't like to use my high-end foundations every day.  I decided to try out the Revlon 24-hour ColorStay foundation, which holds pretty well throughout the day.  The only down side is that I have to set it, otherwise it leaves my skin feeling a little oily.

I found these candlestick holders at a Japanese gadget store on Lincoln Road, which I am in love with.  The store is filled with modern items that can't be found in many other places.  I also picked up a cute backpack for my son (I'll show in a later post).  Furthermore, my breakfast typically consists of Quaker Weight Control oatmeal and it is so yummy.  I recommend this brand and flavor to all of you.  As for the candles I've shown below, I grabbed this steal at Pottery Barn.  They were only $3!  What are some of your favorite items?

What's in here:
1) Clean & Clear Pomegranate and Orange Zest body wash
2) Revlon 24-hour ColorStay foundation
3) Candlestick holders from a Japanese store on Lincoln Road
4) Quaker Weight Control oatmeal in Maple & Brown Sugar
5) Pottery Barn candles
