No Sweat

Seemingly enough, much of my blog, YouTube and Instagram channels have become populated with active lifestyle content. It's not that I have strayed away from beauty or styling pieces, but I'm showcasing a major part of my life at the moment. I've always said that I aim for a high-intensity workout at least six days out of the week, and with that, comes a plethora of gym clothes to wash, ponytails for days, and the ever-so-sexy perspiration that coincides with each workout.

With that being said, I've partnered with Dove Dry Spray Antiperspirant to share some health and fitness tips that help keep my fellow workout buddies from heaving over in efforts to avoid the underarm plague when I'm working out nearby.

  • Opt for an antiperspirant rather than a deodorant (i.e. Dove Dry Spray Antiperspirant) because deodorants essentially keep bad odors at bay while antiperspirants stop sweat
  • A benefit of having a spray form antiperspirant is that it evaporates quickly, leaving you with essential oils
  • Wear sports bras or loose-fitting tops over your sports bra for breathability
  • Clean your underarm area effectively post-workout to maintain open air for your sweat glands
I think a spray like Dove Dry Spray Antiperspirant is a better option because it goes on instantly dry with no visible residue left on clothes and it provides 48-hours of odor and wetness protection and Dove 1/4 moisturizes for softer underarms. It's also a huge beauty trend right now, that many high fashion models are hailing.

Pampered by Aveda Seven Seas Spa

"Aveda Seven Seas Spa & Salon is one of my go-to beauty pampering spots, for the mere fact that I feel like Queen Lynsee upon entering their facility."

In lieu of spending Memorial Day Weekend in South Beach madness, I enjoy a little pampering off the island.  Aveda Seven Seas Spa & Salon is one of my go-to beauty pampering spots, for the mere fact that I feel like Queen Lynsee upon entering their facility.  The entire staff is welcoming, from the valet service to the hair stylist(s) inside the salon.  On my most recent visit, I was treated to a full day of beauty relaxation with a 50-minute Elemental Nature Massage (which was the best I've received in awhile).  Let's be honest, I'm one of those people with a terrible back and questionable posture at times.  The masseuse at Seven Seas had the strength of Incredible Hulk, with the ability to de-stress immediately.

In addition to a massage, I also opted to get my hair blow dried and styled at the Style Bar along with an Elemental Nature Manicure and Pedicure.  On top of that, the champagne was flowing.  Nobody can possibly complain about that.  Right?

Spring Eye Makeup Tutorial + Mini Makeover Event

As part of my morning routine, I have to keep my essential coffee on hand, my cell phone for good tunes, and the most amazing mirror of my life.  After trying out the simplehuman Sensor Mirror, it became apparent that I've been utilizing the worst mirrors ever purchased prior.  It reveals every nook and cranny on your entire face, which is undoubtedly thrilling and scary at the same time.  However, it allows you to achieve a truly seamless look with cosmetics that I've never obtained before.  Basically, I've been walking around with the Britney Spears circa 2007 look before trying this out.

Gorgeous bronze eye makeup paired with sun-kissed skin is all the rage for Spring 2015 beauty, as seen on the runways.  Lately, I've been rocking this look on a day-to-day basis because I love how effortlessly simply it is to pull together.

Step 1) Apply a primer to the entire eyelid for long lasting wear
Step 2) Using a blending brush, apply a light-toned eyeshadow to the inner corner of the eye
Step 3) Apply a dark-toned eyeshadow along the crease of the eyelid using a different brush
Step 4) Blend the eyelid with a new brush for a smoked out look
Step 5) Add a bright highlight underneath the brow line to make your eyes pop
Step 6) Create a dramatic cat eye with liquid eyeliner
Step 7) Using the same eyeshadow as the crease, apply a small amount under the lower lash line
Step 8) Finish the look off with a coat of voluminous mascara on top and bottom lashes

Product used in this eye makeup tutorial:

I also have a special announcement, for those of you in the Miami area who would like to get a little pampering done.  I'm teaming up with The Container Store for their Magnify Your Mother's Day Event, where you can come receive complimentary lash applications and mini makeovers!  Check out all of the deets below.

DIY: Cellulite and Stretch Mark Removal Scrub

"It was pretty much predestined to happen at some point, but I managed to find an at-home solution for removing cellulite or stretch marks."

It was highly requested on my video channel that I create a tutorial for ridding cellulite and/or stretch marks, and after having my son, it was necessary.  It was pretty much predestined to happen at some point, but I managed to find an at-home solution for removing cellulite or stretch marks.  My primary purpose for this scrub was to remove stretch marks that accumulated from pregnancy, and it has helped tremendously.  If you have those infamous dimples around your booty or thighs, believe me, it happens to everybody.

The most important ingredient in this beauty scrub is caffeine, which helps tighten the skin by providing antioxidants when applied directly.  Obviously, it won't magically make your skin baby-soft within the first few minutes of using it.  However, it works immensely over time.

What you'll need:

-  A jar or waterproof container

-  1 cup of coffee grounds

-  3 Tablespoons of sugar (or salt)

-  6 Tablespoons of coconut oil

Step 1 //  Measure out all of your ingredients

Step 2 //  Combine all ingredients in an empty jar, and mix together until everything is mixed together

Step 3 // Apply as much as needed to appropriate areas of the body that have cellulite or stretch marks, for about five minutes in the shower.  Rinse with water.  Use once or twice per week and store in the shower (with a lid).

Check out my step-by-step video tutorial here:

A Hair Affair on Lexington Avenue

Products Yoshie used on my hair

In an effort to rid the accustomed method of zapping off inches of hair strictly one time per year, I recently had a hair date with Pierre Michel salon for a day of decadence.  The 10,000-square-foot behemoth of a monument sits at Lexington Avenue and 57th Street with over 61 workstations and three private treatment rooms.  Upon stepping foot into the salon, there was without a doubt good reasoning behind their 40+ year existence.  After visiting various locations in the city, Pierre Michel has maintained its recent location for about four years.  Every luxurious detail stood out: complimentary snacks and beverages at a marble-topped coffee bar, built-in massage chairs while being shampooed, free Wi-Fi, and even the bathrooms are accessorized with Dyson Airblade hand dryers.

After being draped in a Pierre Michel robe by one of their employees who has been loyal to the company for over 30 years, I was escorted to the shampoo room where I instantly sunk into the massage chair and felt utter relaxation.  Post-shampooing, I was advanced to consult with Yoshie, who is considered my go-to stylist whenever visiting New York City.  We discussed exactly what I wanted, how I typically style my hair, products to use, and she even inquired about the barrel size of curling iron that I use.  I placed my life in her hands as she artistically trimmed away at my locks, leaving me feeling like a million bucks.  I'm not the only who feels like a whole new woman after receiving a beautiful cut, right?  Let's just say I'm ditching any other hair stylist and flying straight to the city next time I need a trim.  Yoshie also introduced me to a hair service, Japanese hair straightening, which saturates the bonds within hair that gives its shape using a solution. Whatever the latest hair trends are, Pierre Michel covers it all.  Haircuts and styling start at $135, but it's completely worth it.

In addition to hair services, Pierre Michel also offers eyelash extensions, facial treatments, waxing, makeup applications, manicures and pedicures as well.  If you are ever in Manhattan, stop by Pierre Michel for a day of luxury.

Summer Essentials + Giveaway!

Summer is my favorite season for endless reasons - warm weather, beautiful sunsets, beach days with my little man, and cold watermelon on my lips.  In celebration, I'm sharing the top Summer essentials on my list and products or brands that this girl is simply loving right now.

The combination of high-end fashion and fine art make this line of clothing and accessories so beautiful.  Since 2012, Calaphya has built an array of gorgeous tops inspired by creating art and design for everyday life.  Whether dressing it up with an A-line skirt and heels or keeping it casual with a pair of black jeans, Calaphya tops have been my go-to on an everyday basis.
www.calaphya.com

2. Flurowater
Hydration is key during the Summer.  After my recent trip to New York City, I was dehydrated and needed a pick-me-up (now enters Flurowater).  What makes Flurowater a favorite of mine is that it contains 14 nutrients, contains less than 10 calories, with zero sugar, 6 grams of fiber per bottle, and it makes drinking water a little more exciting.  Since I work out often and don't take many vitamins, this is my lifesaver.  It also comes in delicious flavors like Watermelon Raspberry, Kiwi Cucumber, Macoun Apple, and Dark Cherry.

3. Memebox
Subscription boxes typically offer sample sizes; however, Memebox offers 4-8 FULL-size beauty products to give the best experience.  After trying out various subscription beauty boxes Memebox has become my BFF not only for the full-size products, but all of the items are from Korea. If you haven't tried out Korean beauty products, you must try this out.  They are unique and amazing!

4. Hollywood Fashion Tape
Fashion tape should be in every girl's purse.  Whether sweat is dripping down your body, clothes are slipping or you're wearing a dress that needs a lift, Hollywood Fashion Tape helps keep it all together.

5. It's a Ten Miracle Leave-In Product
The Holy Grail beauty product for the Summer (or ever).  After showering and washing my hair, I apply the It's a Ten Miracle Leave-In Product for a silky all-day shine.

6. Anatomie Travel Clothing
Made of Italian and French fabrics, Anatomie travel clothes are essential for Summer trips when comfort and style is key.  When I was in New York, I wore their Merika Wind Breaker pretty much everywhere.  Anatomie also offers a custom "Find Your Pant" service where they take your measurements and information to find the exact pair of pants that fits best.  If I'm ever traveling and need pieces that will keep me comfortable on the plane but chic once I touch down, I gravitate to Anatomie.

7. Doll Face Skincare
As part of my everyday skincare routine, I've been incorporating the Doll Face Illuminating Face Polish, Anti-Oxidant Protective Moisturizer and Pore Perfecting Mineral Mask to keep glowing skin that stays fresh throughout the hot Summer days.  The Pore Perfecting Mineral Mask really helps clean out any toxins that enter during the days, when my face feels like it's melting off in 90 degree weather.

8. Maybelline Baby Lips
Maybelline Baby Lips contain the perfect combination of hydration, tint, and long-wear for lips.

9. Yes to Blueberries Cleansing Facial Wipes
The Yes to Blueberries Cleansing Facial Wipes remove all of my waterproof makeup in the Summer, without drying out the face.

The Most Comfortable Lingerie in the World

fashion blogger, top fashion blogger, miami fashion blogger, thirdlove, luvocracy, thirdlove lingerie, luxurious lingerie, affordable lingerie, affordable bras, panties, womens underwear, womens bras, luvocracy, style by lynsee, lynsee hee kyeong, womens undergarments, bath and body works, nyx cosmetics, yes makeup wipes, beauty blogger, youtuber, youtube beauty guru, style by lynsee, beauty tips 2014, 2014 lingerie

Well, ladies, I have to tell you about my recent rendezvous.  Nothing is more luxurious than high-quality undergarments against the skin because whatever touches your body needs to be:

1) Comfortable enough to wear underneath anything without giving that whole "granny panty" effect
2) Sexy enough to feel like J-Lo when you're dancing in front of the mirror in the mornings (no, just me?)
3) Sterilized, obviously

In the midst of searching for women's lingerie with all of these qualities, I was casually introduced to ThirdLove. Upon receiving their Mesh Plunge Bra and Bikini bottoms, I slipped them on to immediately feel like Mariah Carey with wind blowing through my hair.  It was then that I realized I wasn't in the middle of a desert, filming a music video but rather in my bedroom staring at a mobile fan pacing back and worth.  However, ThirdLove's tasteful lingerie not only has a luxurious look and feel.  Their pieces honestly feel as though there is nothing on your body.  The first time I wore my ThirdLove lingerie, I had to double check to make sure I was still wearing underwear.

On another note, they provide 1/2 cup sizes for better fit (although I'm part of the IBTC so I don't quite need any larger sizes).  If you're unfamiliar with IBTC, feel free to Google it.  Additionally, ThirdLove has a unique app that allows you to measure yourself with a virtual measuring tape from the convenience of your smartphone.  This seems to be a much better approach than having a random salesperson measuring your bust in a department store.

No Cuts, No Dye, Just Blowdry.

As the weekend approaches, I thought I would share my newest find (and savior to my hair) in Florida. With locations in Boca Raton and Aventura, So Blo blowdry salon is an ultra luxe yet affordable salon where ladies can get their hair done easily and with no fuss.  I had the opportunity to take it for a test run prior to the Aventura grand opening, as I was on my way to another event and it was a fabulous experience.

Something that intrigued me about So Blo is their "No Appointments" policy, which means you don't have to go through the hassle of being able to fit it into your schedule because they cater to you and allow you to come in whenever you like.

What I love so much about this particular blowdry salon is the simplicity of it.  For example, you can get a quick blowout before a meeting, during a lunch break, before a big event, prior to a date night out with the beaux.  I'm also one of those girls who loves a good pampering (what girl doesn't love to be pampered?) and So Blo treated me like a queen from the moment that I stepped foot in the salon.  From champagne to the service, it's an overall relaxing experience that would even be great for a ladies night out or birthday night out.

How fab does this look?  Every signature blowdry includes a shampoo AND a glass of champagne.  The salon also offers quick touch-ups, scalp massages, styling for little ones, twists and braids, deep conditioning treatments, updo styling, and packages for frequent visitors.

Of course, So Blo knows me well and gifted me with a bag of goodies and an entire tray of cupcakes to go!

Don't forget to RSVP to the event that I'll be hosting tonight at Neiman Marcus Bal Harbour along with Haute Hippie founder and other fashionista bloggers!  Details below.

Video: Hunger Games Catching Fire Inspired Tutorial - CoverGirl Makeup + Nails

As many of you may already know, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire movie releases on November 22nd as the sequel to the epic Hunger Games trilogy which is based on the novel that has sold over 50 million copies in print in the U.S. alone.  If you haven't seen the fire Hunger Games movie (perhaps you have been living under a rock), then I highly suggest checking it out prior to November 22nd.  Although a science fiction themed movie may not sound appealing to some, the movie has actually sparked quite the stir in the fashion and beauty world.  The upcoming movie not only features handmade designs but also pieces by Alexander McQueen, Juun J, Nicholas K, and Tex Saverio.

Aside from the fashion, legendary music icon Lenny Kravitz and celebrated actor Jeffrey Wright will star alongside Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Philip Seymor Hoffman, Stanley Tucci and Donald Sutherland.

In the spirit of the The Hunger Games: Catching Fire opening, I've recreated the District 2/Masonry look from CoverGirl's "Capitol Beauty Studio" which features 12 district looks inspired by the movie.  It's an edgy, yet sultry look that can be worn as both dramatic or casual.  Dotti, CoverGirl Capitol Makeup Artist says of the inspiration behind this look,
" I went for a matte, chalky, yet elegant finish that represents the stone of Masonry in a feminine way."

My Favorite Fall Skincare Line

One of my favorite new skincare discoveries for the fall season is Luv Ya Skincare, which is a comprehensive face line that offers formulations using natural active botanicals and pure essential oils.  I typically stick to Clean & Clear or Neutrogena for my daily facial cleanser, but after trying out this line I was highly impressed with the quality of ingredients in the products.

Luv Ya Skincare's Vitamin A Pumpkin Cleanser is like pumpkin pie in a bottle - seriously.  Applying this cleanser felt as if my face was devouring dessert, while providing nutrition to the face that firms and tightens.  Containing key ingredients such as Vitamin A and Beta Carotene, the formula left my skin feeling fresh and smooth.

After testing out the cleanser, I applied Luv Ya Skincare's Balancing Toner which helped cleanse a little deeper in the pores and really brightened up my face.  The toner contains a powerful ingredient, witch hazel, that I have used in the past and find it to effectively clean out my pores.

Aside from cleansing and toning, the skincare line digs a little deeper to refine the face and purify skin.  I also tried out the Kukui Nut Scrub as an exfoliator, which contains a volcanic source to wipe away dead cells without harsh abrasion.  I've used a lot of exfoliators that feel like my face is being ripped off, but this one is mild enough while still removing the dead skin with ease.  A few other favorites of mine are the C+ Collagen Serum and the Collagen Mask which made my skin feel absolutely amazing and gave my face a glow!  My skin is oily and sometimes skincare lines don't work well with my type, but Luv Ya Skincare really impressed me with the quick results.

As for daytime products, the SPF 30+ Moisturizer was the perfect enriching hydrator to put on under my makeup AND it blends well with cosmetics.  Do any of you know what I'm talking about?  There's nothing worse than applying a moisturizer that leaves your makeup looking like a greasy mess.  However, the SPF 30+ moisturizer contains no oil, which worked heavenly with my skin type.

At night, I tried out the Intensive Eye Cream with Murumuru (I had no idea what this was prior to trying it out, but it's a fruit from the amazon rainforest rich in nutrition and moisture).  Let's just say I went to sleep with dark circles under my eyes and woke up looking refreshened.

I'm not the type to give good product reviews for products that I don't honestly think highly of, so believe me when I say that the quality of Luv Ya Skincare is amazing!  If you are looking for a new skincare line for the new season, check it out at LuvYaSkin.com
