The Short Suit.

A girl can never have enough gold, right?  There is something about the combination of black and gold that entices my eye and creates a polished look.  "Menswear" is trending for fall, so for today's look I decided to play around with textures and put together a short suit with this blazer by Bebe and loafer heels by Me Too from Hautelook.

I've been loving the brocade print, which is a class of rich and decorative shuttle-woven fabrics made with interweaving layers of silk and metallic thread.  I wore this outfit to the Bloomingdale's event that I mentioned in my previous "How to Style Denim" post, so I paired the blazer with shorts by F21.

Since I was attending a daytime event, I kept my accessories pretty minimal with a gold watch by Guess and an oversized clutch by Steve Madden.

Effortless in Alice & Trixie.

what to wear during the day, how to dress, casual outfit for women, blaque label clothing, alice and trixie clothing, rhythm of grace boutique, online shopping, fashion blogger, new york fashion week

Despite the cool weather that everyone else gets the pleasure of experiencing currently, I have been attempting to maintain sanity in the sweltering heat.  Just kidding - I love the warm weather here.  One of my go-to daytime outfits is a loose-fitting silk tank and bold, printed shorts like these Alice & Trixie Vicki High Waisted Shorts from Rhythm of Grace.  I really love the vibrant pattern and scalloped cut of them, which give it an effortlessly chic look.

This look is easy, breezy, and completely comfortable for days when I'll be running around or a quick lunch meeting.  Since my shorts are bold, I decided to pair them with a Blaque Label silk top because it's the perfect basic staple.

Video: How to Transform from Summer to Fall Fashion

It's official - the time has come to bury summer fashion.  However, there are ways to transform your summer wardrobe into fall-worthy looks as well.  For example, basic tees or tanks can still be worn during the fall season by adding layered pieces such as chunky sweaters or denim button-up shirts with a leather jacket.  Shorts, skirts and dresses can still survive by throwing on a pair of thick tights underneath them with some tall leather boots.

The essential items can easily be transformed from season to season by simply layering and learning how to switch pieces in and out of your looks.  Many people used to think that I had so many different items of clothing in my closet when I was in high school or college when I just learned how to utilize what I owned to create different looks.

Check out my new video showcasing a summer to fall transformation that I put together with Warhon Media which features pieces by Urban OutfittersH&M, ZARA, 2B Bebe, Steve Madden, and Forever 21 :

The Minimalist.

If I'm ever in a "what to wear" rut, my go to pieces typically incorporate black and white.  Minimal tones are simple to style and maintain an effortless look that can be worn for any occasion.  After completely falling for this Scuba Crop Top by 2B Bebe, I have been forcing myself to do more ab workouts in the evening.

To glam up the look a bit, I paired 2B Bebe's crop top and ZARA pants with the Girl on Fire Stack by Ibiza Passion and my Movado leather watch.  There is something refreshing about the combination of black, gold and white together, as it adds the perfect touch of classic chic.

I love how the silky texture of these ZARA pants dress up a look, but the drawstring closure keeps it a little casual at the same time.  Strappy heels have been another love of mine; therefore, I decided to rock these sexy white heels to polish off the look.

Yes, leopard print is still rocking the runways and it has earned its status as "the new neutral."  Adding a leopard print bag, like this shoulder bag by ALDO, can really pull everything together with a minimalistic (or animalistic) approach.  Don't worry - my bag is faux fur so no animals were harmed for this blog post :)

Video: DIY Sexy Leg Scrub

Although summer is nearing its end, I wanted to share my favorite DIY body scrub that gives a really sexy leg glow and it's extremely simple to put together.  Using products that are most likely laying around the kitchen, this coconut and lime leg scrub exfoliates skin and keeps it smooth as ever.  Exfoliating not only gives a beautiful glow, but improves circulation as well.

Some other great tips for maintaining sexy legs are:

1) Drink plenty of water

2) Shave legs regularly to remove hair

3) Stay active

4) Eat healthy

5) Apply lotion immediately after getting out of the shower to moisturize well (don't dry off first)

6) Don't wear clothing or undergarments that are too tight on your skin, as it can lead to varicose veins or numbing in the legs

Enjoy :)

Style By Lynsee on Instagram

I've really been loving my new arm candy, the Girl on Fire Stack by Ibiza Passion

A glimpse of my latest video up on my YouTube Channel : 5 Easy Tips to Shed Belly Fat in 7 Days

Spending my weekends basking in the sun on the sandy beach is so relaxing!

A few new goodies courtesy of 2B Bebe, which I can't wait to style!  I've already styled the Forbidden Blue dress in yesterday's post that can be viewed here

It was a pleasure to work on the Dwyane Wade Elite Camp in Chicago!  We had a great turnout for the underprivileged children in the Chicago area, and it went toward a great cause.

My favorite warm weather combo: Cold watermelon and a refreshing green juice.

Betsey Johnson's all pink soiree was such a fun and girly party!  Betsey is exactly how I imagined she would be: Full of life, fabulous, and exuberant.

Like mommy, like son.

Thanks to Allure Beauty for sending me the best beauty products for the Fall season!

An oldie, but goodie: Little Lynsee as a young buck (and yes, I rocked the bowl cut for years).

CoverGirl's pop-up beauty bar was filled with glamorous goodies.

Back to School Series: Flirty & Feminine [#3]

In continuation with my "Back to School Series," today's look of the day is my favorite outfit of the three in this compilation.  Although I dressed like a tomboy (believe it or not) during my grade school days, my love for feminine and girlish pieces flourished as time went by.  Therefore, this is the perfect "girl next door" outfit that pulls together a floral romper paired with a lightweight denim top to polish off a delicate ensemble.

What I'm Rocking:
Romper by Kimchi Blue (Urban Outfitters)
Leather flats by BCBG
Denim top by F21

Ultramodern Shimmer.

As one of the main highlights of the Spring/Summer 2013 runways, metallic clothing is shining with a fresh rendition of new fashion.  Combining pastels with leathers and high-shine textures creates a nostalgic effect that leaves an endless fashion statement.  I know what you may be thinking - aren't metallics for space age suits or Sci-fi movies?  No.  Finding a balance between elegance and a casual relaxed look is key to embracing the metallic trend.

Metallics pair well with confidence, a relaxed attitude, feminine pieces, basic black, and bold hues.  Silver metallics have a fundamental element that remains classic and adds an extra level of contrast to a variety of looks, reaching cutting-edge levels of polish with a futurist twist .
