As the launching ground for the COAST Show, Miami recently hosted the rapidly growing global trade show at Soho Studios in the heart of Miami’s Wynwood Art District. The fashion trade exhibition spans from Miami to New York and Chicago as a stress free buying environment for high end, specialty, and department stores that are typically rushed during larger markets. The president and founder of COAST, Karen Bennett, has extensive relationships with designers and showrooms all over the world and that inspired her to launch this revolutionary trade show.
I had the pleasure of attending this fashion gateway event and had an amazing time meeting some really great people along with discovering fresh brands. For example, Blu + Baker is a local Boca Raton – based company that has an authentic Python line of beautiful accessories and/or handbags. They were kind enough to gift me with the gorgeous silver iPad case and my iPad could not be happier.
HUDSON Jeans never fails with the prints, material, and comfort of their denim.
ELLIATT had the most feminine and romantic pieces, which you know I love.
Stella & Jamie is new favorite of mine, full of effortlessly chic pieces.
Boulee really took on the new leather trimming trend in a multitude of areas with different cuts, such as this skirt.
Combining the tough structure of leather along with a delicate lace material is the perfect duo because it provides a little of both worlds.
I really loved the tribal-inspired look and feel of the jewelry pieces by Made.
If you haven’t been to Gigi’s in Miami’s midtown area, then you have not lived yet. The food is amazing. Aside from these wraps that they made for the event, Gigi’s has delicious Asian-inspired cuisine fused with comfort food.
Another great brand that I discovered (and the only fitness wear line in the building) was Capo-Nata, which prides itself on their patented sports bra which features a built-in stomach band that allows the stomach to sweat more while working out. After having my son, I wore one of those massive and beyond bulky stomach bands underneath my workout clothes so when I found out about this piece I almost died. Well, not literally.
Another interesting fact that I found out about the woman behind this brand, Natascha (CEO and Founder), is a professional stunt person so she works side-by-side with celebrities and professionals who stay on the cutting edge of pieces such as these.
After sitting down for a little talk with Fernando Valencia of Fernando Valencia Hair, I discovered that there was a profound movement behind his company and it’s not only about doing hair but “Hair with Purpose.” He also has a collection of shirts that can be purchased in which proceeds go to help fund a safe house and institute in Guayaquil for LGBT youth.
The ladies in the Rose Gonzales booth were just as vibrant and full of life as their bracelets are! I love the tassel tie bracelets, as they are the perfect arm candy for a casual day out.
The definition on Line and Dot‘s pieces really stood out to me, with unique collars and prints that are lightweight and great for the office or play.
For those of who aren’t too familiar with the Beachbody brand or Shaun T, let’s just say that the workouts will have one sweating in places he/she didn’t know sweat could appear and crying by the end of the session. Needless to say, I was invited to check out Sweat USA powered by Reebook as part of my “Fab to Fit Series” when the nation’s first all-star fitness festival arrived in Miami. With over 3,000 fitness enthusiasts in attendance and over 100 exhibitors showcasing their innovative products/services, it was one of the most inspirational and motivating events that I’ve attended.
The genesis for the annual Sweat USA Miami Beach Fitness Festival is to expose consumers to the latest trends, options and resources available on the market today in the health, fitness and wellness genres, through bringing the industry, and its leaders, together under one roof within a city whose residents seek a healthy and active lifestyle.
