Throughout the past 3 months, I have probably purchased about 90+ gallons of water. As insane as it sounds as I type that, I drink about a gallon of water per day, primarily because I train hard and keeping myself hydrated has been important for me on a day-to-day basis. Regardless, I’ve been making it a point to contribute what I can by making small changes in my life to use less disposable water bottles/containers. I also encourage Taejin (my son) to drink more water rather than sugar-induced juices or sports drinks. This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Primo®.
Recently, I switched over to a Primo in-home water dispenser. The one I chose –the Smart Touch Deluxe Bottom Loading Water Dispenser – is sleek, with a hidden water compartment so it doesn’t look too bulky. It also came with a handy welcome mailer, explaining how to best incorporate the water dispenser in my home.
Primo water is readily available in my area, so we refill ours inside a local Whole Foods (or any of these locations) at the self-service water station, and it’s become a fun little trip for us on the weekends. It’s super convenient and affordable, which is what I love about it so much. As I mentioned before, I’ve bought about 90 gallons of water over the past three months and spent about $86. However, I spend about $24 on 90 gallons of Primo water.
Having a Primo dispenser is helping me achieve my goals to cut down on waste. In fact, each 5-gallon bottle saves up to 1,100 single-use bottles from the landfill or oceans.Growing up in the Midwest, tap water seemed alright to drink. However, tap definitely doesn’t taste the same in Miami. The purification of Primo water includes filtration, reverse osmosis and sterilization. The dispensers allow for hot and cold water, which is a bonus because I can mix it in with my oatmeal or coffee in a matter of seconds. It’s such a time saver! If I ever need to grab an empty bottle or cap, it’s also readily available on their website. Therefore, I’ve decided to kick off a 30-Day Water Challenge to start the summer off right. Drinking water not only helps cleanse the body, but it’s great for improving digestion, clear skin, weight loss, and flushing toxins. And did you know that families tend to drink 25% more water when a water dispenser is in their home?
The 30-Day Water Challenge Rules:
- Take half your body weight, and drink that amount in ounces of water per day (ex. 200-lbs x .5 = 100oz per day)
- Add 12oz for every 30 minutes of exercise you complete each day
- No alcohol, no sweetened coffee or tea, no soda, no juices
- Post daily photos #30daywaterchallenge
