As my birthday approaches, I can’t help but reminisce college days and how I never really experienced a complete “dorm room” moment. After entering college, I had my own place but secretly enjoyed the thought of dorm room décor to reflect my personal style. Adding a little custom flair to any dorm room not only transforms the entire room, but gives it character and a feeling of being at home. Therefore, I’ve decided to go back in time (think Back to the Future with Lynsee) and live my college days all over again along with PBDorm to showcase some of my personal dorm room essentials.
Personally, my decor style is chic, clean and fresh. I like to keep everything fairly neutral and feminine with unique items that have multi-purposes because it limits the amount of space needed while adding a personal touch.

Dorm room organization is the number one priority when decorating such a room, as there is little space to work with. However, it can be done with the right pieces. For example, bundling up beauty products along with a wall mirror is a great way to keep everything consolidated in a small area of the room. Additionally, placing makeup or other products in wall storage containers helps keep everything clean and organized too.
As for a workspace, I think it’s pretty essential to have an area where you can do homework or projects because it helps maintain balance between work and a living area. PBDorm has some space-saving desks that also contain wall storage compartments which is perfect for all work essentials. I’m also loving these fresh chevron printed desk organizers for pencils, paper clips, folders, notebooks, etc.
The “Freshman 15” does not need to become a fad if you have the proper food storage pieces in the dorm room. A few of my must-haves in this department include: 1) a miniature fridge (how cute is the pink one?), 2) sealable food containers (portion control), and 3) a healthy snack bar. I would include little packets of raw nuts, dried cranberries, Quest bars, and popcorn in mine.
Of course, a little wall art is necessary in any dorm room. I love the photo frame decals for adding photos with friends while the bulletin board is perfect for little reminders to stay on schedule.
