Spring season means one of two things: Miami will begin to become almost unbearably hot and sweaty or maxi skirts are a must have. Pairing a neutral toned maxi skirt with a vibrant top gives an effortless look while maintaining comfort (and allowing your legs to breathe). Another option which is great for Spring is to rock an edgy crop top with some strappy heels.
These cobalt statement earrings are a beautiful accessory to glam up a casual look, even though I rarely seem to wear earrings. However, I’ve been loving this pair from LE TOTE, for adding some glitz to a neutral outfit.
What I’m rocking:
Whenever in doubt, stick to the basics. My “basics” during this time of the year includes a lightweight top, black shorts, a hat and some chunky booties. This is a great weekend outfit or a twist on a casual look for the day, which is also mommy-friendly without busting out the mom jeans. In fact, this past weekend was an ideal time for me to wear this outfit while running around with Taejin (my two-year-old rockstar) in an attempt to find millions of Easter eggs at various egg hunts in Miami.
What I love so much about this top from Le Tote is that it flairs out to make it feminine, yet the back opens up for a unique cut. The built-in color blocking is also a nice touch paired with embellished boots and lace shorts.

A color combination that screams “utter perfection” for the Spring season is pink and ivory, as it is delicate and feminine. As a featured editor for ShopStyle by PopSugar, I’ve compiled some of my favorite pieces including everything from my go-to rompers, accessories, handbags, Valentino Rockstud sandals, trendy sneakers, dresses, etc. Anna-Karin Karisson‘s gold glitter-speckled cream sunglasses are gorgeous paired with the carved roses on top of the frames. Another Spring friendly accessory that I’m loving is the Erickson Beamon necklace coated with gold-plated Swarovski crystals. The floral arrangement of this necklace will set off any basic top! A few other floral favorites of mine are the Dolce & Gabbana Cotton Silk Brocade coat, Givenchy skate shoes, and Erdem‘s embroidered silk-organza gown (which is to die for).
For ivory basics, the fresh crocodile-embossed crop by Alexander McQueen is a beauty in addition to Malene Birger’s wrap-effect jumpsuit. Jumpsuits or rompers are my timeless pieces that look chic and effortless. There’s also something about a clean, white handbag like Michael Kors’ medium satchel, that polishes off a look. Givenchy’s small antigona grained leather bag isn’t bad either.

Whatever the occasion, Sundays are the perfect opportunity to pull out that ultra feminine dress that can be worn throughout the entire day without feeling uncomfortable. Therefore, my go-to Sunday piece is this Grisel Chambray Dress that I snagged from LE TOTE and absolutely love its detailing. It’s the perfect dress for any body type as well.
To cinch the dress at the waist, I paired it with a leopard printed belt and black accessories for a polished look. Adding something as small as a printed belt can really pull together an outfit without overdoing it.

In continuation with my Beautiful Confidence series, today’s post highlights healthy habits for losing stubborn belly fat and tips for a flatter stomach as bikini season nears. Stubborn belly fat is one of those annoyances that sticks around and doesn’t go away, like a lurking ex-boyfriend. However, there are ways to evict that muffin top and create six-pack abs for the Summer season.
1. Eat clean
There is an infamous saying that goes, “abs are built in the kitchen.” From my experience, this is absolutely true. There are moments where we all cheat and get tempted by pizza or pasta, which is perfectly fine in limitations. When it’s time to slim down, eating junk food all day will not help in the weight-loss process. Therefore, the goal is to eat clean or unprocessed foods such as:
Fruits – Apples, oranges, bananas, strawberries, blueberries, grapes, mangoes, etc.
Vegetables – Kale, spinach, romaine, cabbage, bell peppers, mushrooms
Carbs – Sweet potatoes, brown rice, gluten-free oats, gluten-free pasta, quinoa
Protein – Lean meats like chicken breasts or lean beef, white fish like tilapia, salmon, whey protein, egg whites, Greek yogurt, cottage cheese
Healthy Fats – Coconut oil, avocado, fish oil, nuts, flax seeds
2. Eat more often
No, you didn’t read that incorrectly. Many people mistake starving themselves as the miracle weight-loss solution when in reality, it only makes things worse for the body and metabolism. Eating the correct amount of protein, whole foods and healthy fats, promotes fat loss. On the other hand, starving oneself will have a domino effect where the body is deprived of nutrients after so long. Therefore, it will scream “feed me everything” at one point. Eating at least 5-6 small meals per day will also help the body burn muscle into energy, in conjunction with healthy exercise. By eating every three hours, the body won’t starve and you will feel satisfied. Some tips include:
Eat proteins, vegetables/fruits with every meal
Eat carbohydrates after workouts only
3. Drink more water
Drinking at least 8 glasses of water per day is not only good for cleansing out the body and the detoxification process, but it may be the solution for what the mind believes to be hunger. Sometimes the body is dehydrated rather than hungry. Drinking a glass of water before and after each meal helps reduce overeating and allows for better digestion.
4. Boost up cardio and get stronger
Cardio helps to burn fat quicker, while weightlifting strengthens the muscles and increases fat loss. Ever since I began lifting weights, I’ve noticed a drastic change in the definition of my body and my ability to eat more (which is a plus for me because I love food)! If you aren’t sure what to do, start small by walking or jogging for 30 minutes per day and lifting for 30-45 minutes. Slowly begin to increase the cardio time and reps.
5. Try a skin toning solution

Bikini season is right around the corner, and often people ask what I do to get in shape for summer or how I stay healthy. To maintain a balanced lifestyle, I believe that it requires a combination of a nutritious diet and exercise. However, there are some other tips that I incorporate into my “Spring Slim Down” routine that help whip me into shape a little quicker and give me beautiful confidence to shine.
To kickstart my day, I love to put together a healthy breakfast that is appealing to the eye and body. One of my favorite meals is a big platter filled with fresh fruits paired alongside gluten-free oats or yogurt and granola. It gives me enough energy to begin my day and remain active with my morning workout routine.
After breakfast, I either pop in one of my Beachbody workout DVD’s or head outside to do some quick workouts on the beach. During my slim down routine, I utilize a park bench to conduct tricep dips, a stair railing to do standing push-ups, and I’ve also been loving squats lately. Squats and push-ups are great ways to tone the core and firm up that booty for bikini season!
