Cosmopolitan Summer Splash 2012 Event Recap - Miami Swim Week

As many of you may know, this past week was Miami Swim Week/Fashion Week and the city of Miami Beach was packed with fashionistas from all over the nation.  I received a private invitation to attend this year's Cosmopolitan Summer Splash event which was presented by Pantene and of course Cosmopolitan Magazine.  I attended the event a few years ago when it was held at the Setai Hotel but this year's runway showcasing was at an even better venue, Soho Beach House.  It was the perfect setting to host a swimwear fashion show as the venue featured an elongated pool outside with appropriate seating areas for guests.  It was a fabulous event!

Furthermore, each seated guest received a custom Cosmopolitan tote bag with the following goodies inside:

1 Cosmopolitan beach towel
1 Samsara Imports bangle
1 bottle of Pantene moisturizer and styler
2 CoverGirl Blast Flipsticks (in Glimmer Lueur and Vixen Seductrice shades)
1 new issue of Cosmopolitan magazine
1 pair of Cosmopolitan sunglasses

Monday Motivation: My Weekend Recap

Happy Monday everyone!  I hope you had an enjoyable weekend, as mine was pretty busy.  As I mentioned in a previous blog post, I, along with my business partner have created a nationwide event which will launch this Friday and Saturday during fashion week in Miami!  I'm so excited about it and I've been really busy getting everything finalized for it.  Over the weekend, I went out with the Fashion Rush street team to do some promotions for my event and we handed custom water bottles out to everyone in the Miami area.  We received some great feedback from everyone and had a great time.

A glimpse of Fashion Rush and the street team promotions

Out with the team this weekend, keeping everyone in Miami cool =]

I look forward to our lazy Sunday's spent together... <3

NYC Trip and Insanity Commercial Part II

In case you missed my first blog post about my trip to New York City to film the new Insanity commercial, you can view it here.  It was my first trip to the big apple and I took so many photos, after traveling to so many different areas of the city.  Even though I was able to visit various areas of the city, I still feel as though I didn't get to discover all that I wanted to and I can't wait to go back!  It's still up in the air when the commercial air-date will be since we are awaiting the editing from their producers, but I will keep you all updated of course.  For now I'd like to share some more of my photos from the amazing trip.
Let's just say this was a little slice of heaven...standing in front of Versace on Fifth Avenue in NYC, holding my morning coffee.

The Empire State building was a must-see!

I stumbled upon Koreatown in one of my outings where I somehow got lost and ended up in what felt like my homeland.

You have no idea how excited I was...to be lost in Koreatown.

Central Park.

Rockefeller Center.

Rockefeller Center.

I'm probably the only person who was this excited to see a Korean food cart in New York City that I had to snap a photo of it.  There are absolutely no Korean restaurants within my living vicinity in Miami, so one can only imagine my level of excitement.

4th of July Recap

Hi everyone!  I hope you all had a fabulous 4th of July, as I know I enjoyed the holiday as well.  It was a beautiful day in Miami so I went out on a yacht with about 30 people and we went to a sandbar where everyone meets up with their yachts/boats.  It was a huge celebration on the water and I had such a good time.  I decided to opt for a more classic look than the typical "red, white and blue" that most people wear for the holiday.  I wore a black and white bikini with a Victoria's Secret mesh cover-up and my Steve Madden sandal heels.  I accessorized it with some gold jewelry as well.  How did you guys spend your holiday?

Healthy Habits: Seared Tuna with Bell Pepper & Chickpea Salad

Last night, I made the most delicious dish which consisted of a seared tuna filet with bell pepper and chickpea salad on top of it.  Tuna has become one of my favorite go-to meals lately.  It's so simple to make and healthy for you too.  What are some of your favorite dishes?

Seared Tuna
Cooking spray
1 tuna steak/filet
1 garlic clove
Pepper or other seasoning to taste

Bell Pepper and Chickpea Salad
2 cups of fresh green beans
2 cups of chickpeas
1 small tomato, diced
1 small onion, diced
1 red bell pepper, diced
1 green bell pepper, diced
Dressing: Lemon juice, Dijon mustard and a dash of olive oil

I piled the salad on top of the seared tuna; however, you can do whatever you desire!  It's the perfect summer dish.  Enjoy =]
