Healthy Habits: How I Lost 55 lbs in Two Months

I've been getting a lot of inquiries and questions about my recent weight loss and how I dropped all of my baby weight so quickly.  Therefore, today's post will feature the workout plan, eating habits, and a few other tricks that helped me lose weight very quickly.  However, I'm not promoting that this exact plan will give you the same results because we are all different when it comes to our bodies.  As most of you may know, I had a beautiful baby boy about 6 months ago.  I loved the whole experience of being pregnant and I wouldn't take it back for the whole world.  While I was pregnant, I gained about 45 lbs.  I was still exercising up until my 7th or 8th month, but I was also eating everything and then some in my last month.  After I had him, I was determined to lose all of the baby weight but I wasn't in a rush to drop it because I knew it would take some time.

Since I couldn't exercise for 6 weeks following his birth, I did mild yoga and walking.  Then I purchased the Insanity workout program, which is how I lost most of the weight.  I have been recommending this program to all of my friends because it really helped me.  It consists of circuit training with resistance using your own body weight.  I also took Herbalife supplements and shakes, wore a belly band while working out, and remained very strict about my diet.  I reduced my calorie intake, no sugar, low carbs (whole grains only), very little red meat, only drank water, and no junk food or fried food.  Now, I treat it as more of a lifestyle.  I don't take Herbalife supplements or shakes anymore, but I still use Insanity every day and follow a healthy nutrition plan.  I ended up losing all of the baby weight I gained, along with 10 more lbs.  Now I am in the best shape of my life and I've never been so happy.  I did it not only for myself, but so I can be healthy for my son as well.

Herbalife products I used:
Meal replacement shakes (2 per day)
Snack defense supplement
Herbal tea supplement
Cellu-loss supplement

My lovely Herbalife supplier, Tramika Phillips' website is here

Anyway, here are some photos of the products I used and my results:

All that Glitters

Happy Monday!  I hope everyone enjoyed the weekend.  To start off the week, today's OOTD features these shorts that I wish I had in every color along with some various gold detailing with teal accents.  The top is a cream color, but if you look closely you can see small gold specks throughout the shirt.  I paired it with some gold glitter heels and a gold handbag for a daytime chic look.  Let me know what you think!

What I'm wearing:
ZARA top
H&M shorts
ALDO handbag
Forever 21 accessories
Forever 21 heels

Friday Favorites!

For this week's Friday Favorites, I have some of my favorite beauty, fashion, and home decor items.  What are some of your favorite items that you use often or highly recommend?  *I was not endorsed by these brands to promote the items listed below.

Since the weather has been a little chilly lately, I love throwing on a scarf and adding layers to my outfits.  Here are some of my favorite scarves at the moment.  Black scarf) Express, Gold scarf) Express, and Leopard scarf) ZARA.

I was searching for a contemporary lamp that had this look and feel to it, with the silver detailing and clear spheres throughout the base of the lamp.  Luckily, I snagged two of these lamps for my home and I love them!

These Sally Hansen salon effects nail strips are one of my go-to beauty finds.  Being a busy mom with a career and trying to juggle everything leaves me very little time to sit down and do my nails.  Therefore, I like to use these nail strips because they apply quickly and they actually do last for the full 10 days as its package details.

Miami Beach has an organic store called "FRESH" market, where I love to stop in and grab something from.  Last time, I picked up this delicious blueberry green tea.  Green tea is beneficial in the sense that it is low in calories, can help prevent tooth decay and reduces the risk of cancer, rheumatoid arthritis, cardiovascular disease, infection, and high cholesterol.

This cuticle remover by Essie works wonders.  Almost immediately after you roll the tip of the pen over your cuticles, it removes cuticles right away.  I purchased this at Walgreen's.

The Versace Dress

As most of you know, H&M joined forces with Versace for a limited edition release of a Versace line that was exclusively launched a few months ago.  Shoppers were given wristbands and allotted a certain amount of time to shop the line.  I wasn't able to make it to the launch and found out that they sold out within a few hours at the store closest to me.  However, I managed to snag a Versace dress when I stopped by the store the following weekend!

I haven't brought it out of my closet until now because I was waiting for the right event to wear it to and this past weekend I was able to bust it out for a local fashion event here in Miami Beach.  Anyway, that is the story behind this beauty.  Enjoy!

What I'm wearing:

Ab Fab

One of my favorite new trends is baring midriff.  It's a great way to show off some skin without revealing too much.  Today, I decided to pair this delicate top with some rugged, almost boyfriend jeans so they have a really loose fit.  Enjoy!

What I'm wearing:
Defined top
Express jeans (customized)
Guess gold watch
Movado black watch

The Versatile Blue Skinnies

What I love most about these bright blue skinny jeans is that they are so versatile.  For example, I have previously paired them with some mid-ankle black boots, a leather jacket and scarf.  Today, I decided to switch it up and pair them with a nude chiffon blouse and leopard accents.  What are some of your most versatile pieces?

What I'm wearing:
Forever 21 blouse
Target belt
